I just tried Fortnite and...

....No. I am back to Battlefront 2. Fortnite is way too harsh for beginners - I constantly get killed by people that build stuff WAY faster than I do and create some complex structures that disappear in while I am still messing up the controls lol.

I remember that Battlefront 2 was much easier and casual to learn since Day 1 than Fortnite. Of course, I've only been playing Fortnite for 3 hours, but I think I will leave it on the background and occassionally play it... But not that often.

What do you think?

You lasted longer than I did. I don't think I lasted an hour on fortnight before I uninstalled.

I agree. Tried it out, i had no idea where to go, managed to find a gun but always die in all my encounters.

The other reason I gave up is cause i dont wanna get too addicted to that game like the kids are nowadays- im much too busy for that

I also uninstalled after a few games. I prefer the pace of PUBG personally

I tried it. Didn’t care for building mechanic, just doesn’t make sense to me. Left it installed and now my daughter plays it with her friend. They’ve been playing for a month every now and then and are just looking to get their first kill. It’s actually more enjoyable watching them attempt it

  • Played a few matches and couldn't get into it. I admire all the effort they're putting into it but it's just not my kind of game

I only played for two games on a buddy's console before cementing my opinion of it. People are free to like something, but Fortnite is one of those things I will never understand.

I wasn't a fan of it either. I always die before I could get a kill, thankfully I only tried it at gaming places.

  • I do both, I can see everyone's opinions here as fortnite just feels like it's missing something. But after having a few drinks and jumping on with some mates. Alone eh

I joined Fortnite a while back simply because it was popular amongst my friends and it was a free game we could squad up in. I don’t enjoy it anymore because of the meta. All anyone does anymore is jump, spray, and pray with shotguns. And if they’re not within shotgun range then they build up to you until they are. Shotgunning is just not my favorite style of play so I hope the game will change eventually to allow different strategies to be successful
  • Thanks! What exactly is a meta?

Essentially the most effective build out there. Games get metas when certain cards are either too good or the others are bad. Eventually everyone runs around with the same load out.

  • The graphics are not only horrifically bad, but there's really only one game mode, just different variations of it. And one map.

  • I don't play Fortnite but know quite a few people who do. Fortnite has a higher playerbase, not because it's free, Ilit's because they release regular content and fixes. They keep the community engaged with some sort of event, challenges and other things to keep you grinding. Battlefront has never been in a good state, months in between new content and when they do release stuff it's not much. Most players will pick a better running game with more content over better graphics.

It’s basically the way players play the game, and with a huge game like Fortnite it’s constantly changing with every update
