Stormtroopers need pauldron customization
Both the Empire and the First Order.
First, they'd have to either remove the pauldrons from the Heavies and Specialists etc, or reduce them to the lowest-ranking pauldron (black for Empire, white for FO).
Then they just give us pauldrons in a setup something like this:

Those aren’t pauldrons though?
Hear,hear!
From what I can speculate those have the same use as pauldrons. From what I can tell Stormtrooper commanders wear formal uniforms in places like cities
From what I speculate those badges hold the same meaning as a red pauldron.
So, there's a lot to unpack here. First of all, the Imperial Stormtrooper Commander with armor and a red pauldron is canon.
Second, the rank bars on Stormtrooper armor are seen only on Snow Trooper armor, and they are the equivalent of a pauldron on regular ST armor.
Third, the Stormtrooper Officer (black uniform, with or without black field armor) is separate and distinct from the pauldroned Stormtroopers, though there's an argument that could be made that the ST Captain and Commander are Stormtrooper Officers.
All recolors, except the ISB helmet (it's the one worn by Agent Kallus).
They are also shown in several Canon instances wearing their uniforms on the battlefield. Endor is the most prominent example.
Depends on the badge.
I honestly don't know why this game didn't just come right out of the gates with all the skins from the 2015 game, just as a starting base.
The cynic in me tend to think that it was planned to be added in the lootboxes, as some rare, go buy more crystals, crate drop.
And I would love to see some armored Officer options, even if they required high level or were expensive. For example, Imperial Officer customization options could look like this:
(And of course all options that don't wear Stormtrooper armor should have male and female options, as well as various different human face/head options.)

That said, there are several problems with giving the pauldrons to the Officers.
First, the devs seem intent on making each class visually distinct from the others, and keeping Officers in uniforms accomplishes this (though do would pauldrons, to a lesser extent, if they were removed from the other classes).
Second, even without the pauldrons, there are a lot of different customization options for the Officer class. Black, olive, and gray uniforms for the Imperials, plus field armor options for each, plus ISB and Admiral options. Black, gray, teal, and charcoal uniforms for the FO. All-tan, all-blue, and blue/tan uniforms for Rebels, plus options for helmets, hats, and hats with radios. Tan Vest, tan uniform, and brown uniform for Resistance. Etc. And that's without even going into side options like medical officers and pilots. And the Heavy and Specialist classes usually have a good number of possible skins. But Assault doesn't have many options in most cases, and it could be argued that most pauldron ranks are NCOs at best, so putting pauldrons there seems like a good fit.
Let's hope that the people in creative power see some of this -- or that this is what they were planning to do anyway!
But then I spawned in, and the pauldron was black. Which is exactly what I was saying they should do -- bust the Imperial heavy down to the black Corporal pauldron, and bust the FO Heavy and Specialist Dien to the white Squad Leader pauldron. Is it officially changed, or just on Kessel?
