Things I miss from Battlefront 2015

Here's some simple features I miss from Battlefront 2015

1. The ability to choose a map

2. When you killed someone it would tell you how you did it (sometimes I get confused how I get kills in Bf2 so this would help)

3. Honestly I miss token powerups. I know they broke emersion but I liked being able to pick up a thermal imploder or rocket launcher. I definitely DON'T miss hero pickups though. In BF2 they could have boxes laying around that give you powerups kinda like in ewok hunt.

4. The companion app

5. Survival mode (they could add this to arcade)

  • One of the better things about BF2015 was the immersion. Just one example: in BF2015, we essentially fought during the Battle of Jakku. And if you were on Jakku and looked up at the sky, you would see a massive aerial battle! In BF2017, Jakku puts you inside a rusty star destroyer thirty years after the real battle.

    The battles in BF2017 feel like small skirmishes. I don't really feel that I'm part of a larger conflict on some of the maps... except maybe Kamino & Kashyyyk. I still have hope in Geonosis
  • While I disliked a lot of things about the 2015 game it did have some good qualities.

    The maps and game modes. The maps were really good for their respective game modes. The only really problem was they were kind of broken with everyone having jet packs. Especially Jakku. The jet pack problem was fixed in Battlefront 2 with classes.

    The Bodyguard system some heroes had. Something about giving your teammates the ability to be a better trooper class I really liked. It should really return.

    I also really liked the pick up system but I didn't like how they were just tokens. They should really be like a supply crate like Battlefield 4 has.

    Bodyguard system wasn't fair at all. Only 2 guys were able to become "enhanced troopers" and there wasn't time even to change from Trooper to Trooper. I would like to see bodyguard? Yes, but as a reinforcement class.

    Lasers were actual lasers
    Less Hero bugs TBH
    Sabers 1 Hit instead of the dreaded 3-5 hits on heavies with boost.

    Easier controls and Smoother gameplay
    60 FRAMES PER SECOND ON XBOX ONE, SOMETHING SWBF2 WILL NEVER ACHIEVE
    ATAT was actually good, had splash damage and destroyed ground forces

    GREEDO, TOWEL HEAD MAN, SCARIFF
    TRENCH RUN

    like honestly all you had to do to SWBF2015 was add CLONE WARS. and thats it.

  • I miss all the DLC's from BF2015. These have got to be added in the future for sure. Droid run could be thrown back in the mix too

    - option to choose prefered map
    - Imperial skins (Death Star/Navy Trooper, Shocktrooper, Pauldron Options, etc.)
    - gender options (female assault Stormtroopers, male Scouts, female Imperial/Rebel officers, etc)
    - Jyn & Krennic as heroes
    - Death Star Trench Run & Scarif starfighter maps
    - WA/large maps: Endor, Sullust, Scarif, Jakku, Bespin
    - Small maps: Endor swamp crash site, Sullust Sulfur fields, Sullust Pipelines, Hoth Ice caves, Scarif Beach, Bespin Carbon Freeze chamber, Tatooine Dune sea exchange
    - T-21/T-21B blasters
    - Dropzone game mode

  • How about everything, it's a better game. Had that epic feel from music to blasters, thermal imploders sounded great, blaster fire was better, maps, modes are no comparison, better gunplay and skill in general, companion app, nemesis, partner spawn, map selection, hands didn't reset on death as bf2, better weapons, private matches, infantry based, faster smoother gameplay, game worked, most of all, super fun and competitive with high replay value, felt like a aaa game. That’s a good start anyway.

  • IF only they spent 1 week to change bacta guard combos, added BF17 combat role...Ipad out starfighter with some side objectives im sure it would quickly build a bigger player base that this effort and sell more dlc

    I don't like the BF17 combat roll. They've nerfed it too many times since the beta. In fact, the developers even increased aim assist against the combat roll.

    Well it actually works consistently rather than creates a circus act spinning in place ;-)

  • Scariff, Death Star trench runs, using any blaster in the game.
  • I miss the following things the most:

    1) Rogue One: Jyn, Scarif, Infiltration, Shoretroopers.....
    2) Trooper customization, both cosmetic and weapons. I literally only play Specialist in this game because two of my favorite skins from 2015 are locked to it (Twi'lek and Scout Trooper). My favorite trooper guns in 2015 were the SE-14C (which I miss as well) and the TL-50 (which obviously can only be used as a Heavy, or Iden).
    3) An enjoyable large mode. Supremacy and Walker Assault are way more fun (in my opinion) than Galactic Assault. I am cautiously optimistic for the new mode coming this fall.

    I miss getting to emote with random players at the beginning of the match, before everything got started. I miss that so much. It felt like we were developing bonds, and we would play better as team mates. I loved it, and I really miss it. I don't know why, but it makes me sad not having it there anymore.

  • I miss the immersion. Some of those maps felt straight out the movies. Everything kept even semi-era accurate made all the diff for me.

    I noticed that too. I was happy to see her come back, but why does she have to be the only one with an eyepatch? Nothing fabulous about that.

    I couldn't agree more. Messing around for that 10 seconds was a good break/reprieve. You don't have time to do that now. It added levity to the experience. It's lacking that now.....

    I didn't mind this so much. Couple that with jet pack spamming though and it was a little much.

    I watched some old bf and liked how you could level up with traits like bodyguard. Maybe it should have been on timer or slow withdrawal but it was cool.

    I suspect most people didn't mind the concept of bacta, because every trooper except heavy essentially has such an option now (shield, toughen up, battle command). It's just dispersed via three modes vs all classes spamming one thing.
  • I miss the sense of scale and immersion. Battles, while still small, always felt like they were contributing to a larger goal with background events reflecting match progress. The immersion in the original game was incredible too. It managed to make you feel like you were there in the Galactic Civil War despite the fact that you clearly understood the battles were non-canonical. With Battlefront 2, the cross between equipment and heroes from multiple eras really doesn't make any of them feel unique, which really hampers the Star Wars feeling.

  • Dengar, greedo, good hero balancing and a constant flow of good content. I would have payed for a season pass in a heartbeat if I had known what the future would have neen like.
  • Partner spam definitely had issues at times as did the roll. I loved the roll when it worked because of the speed, the inconsistency is what was awful. I also didn’t mind partner spawns in big modes, the small modes like dropzone and cargo it where it became almost as big a deal as the game itself and was exploited.

    I also liked the fact a noob starting out could use my hand so as not to be left totally useless, small things devs, small things. The 1st game felt much more thought out IMO where 2 feels more like a Monday rush job.

    Other little things like a Nemesis was cool, or the fact my hands didn’t auto reset like they do in bf2 on a death,(casual bf2,casual). To much to list really but so many little things that added up to be huge and make for a much better more immersive gaming experience that was highly competitive imo. Again,my hope is they use bf15 as a foundation for bf3.

There is literally NO advantage to the current system of only allowing certain combinations and calling it a "class". The excuse that "everyone uses jetpacks lolololllolol" doesn't wash, because it wasn't actually true. And if it was, then you're back to a level playing field, aren't you?

    ultra silly sounding badly voiced Luke who could run at like 8x speed.
    Imperial announcers hating on heroes when they showed up/got rekt
    Palpy's spins made the autistic screeching noise
    Less CC in hero fights in general.
