For all the strike players out there

Well precisely the ones that abandon the objective to try and get kills, gonnae go play blast, seriously today playing strike we stopped the resistance right at the destination point, i took up defence of it on one side, only to see two other teammates run by me to try get kills, leaving my 6 completely unguarded and the objective defenceless from one side

Later on i played a new game on takodana with a different team and boy did we defend that objective near the ship, it was so much better a game, still died a lot but it was good knowing i died for a cause as my teammates were able to kill the opponents with me

So for all you strike players that desperately want kills, beat it to blast, let us objective players play in the same game

isn't getting kills still helping with the objective? respawn time + running back to the objective takes alot of time so that helps those playing the objective by having less enemies to deal with.

Not when the objective is at the destination and theres only one poor sod guarding it, if others hadnt came to my rescue essentially the other team kill me and deliver the objective before anyone can get to them
  • Maybe those people are just trying to complete the 'get 10 kills in Strike' daily challenge.

If there were daily challenges like 'kill the carrier in Strike' or 'get 10 kills protecting the objective in Strike', maybe the problem would go away.

Surely defending the objective, where the opponent has to go to win at strike is the easiest way to get this daily challenge, i know thats where i get a load of kills on strike

People will always play their own way. On Takodana when the objective is near ship it is best to kill opponents before they get close - buys a lot more time to let the timer rundown.Depending on Map aggressive killing is the best tactic

In general - this happens in GA as well - it's just so annoying when you think someone's guarding your rear, or the other entrance to an important area, then you just get mowed down by a CR-2 or just generally killed from behind because they've abandoned where you thought they were.

See its not that easy but, the objective near the ship is in a bottleneck, basically the closer the enemy get to it the more bunched up they become, trying to hunt them on large maps makes it harder to kill them

Takodana is hardly large plus they are coming down specific routes and you have camouflage on they are bright white on a dark background.....not too hard...besides an Officer with turret can do a whole lot of defending on their own on that end point
  • What bugs me is when the objective is dropped and no other bugger but me goes to get it.

  • I've had this happen both on my team, and on the opposite team. I had a match on Kamino recently where neither team seemed all that interested in moving the objective. We were the droids, and after about 15 min, and down to about 3 tickets left, I spawned in as a Specialist, popped infiltration and shield, grabbed the package and ran untouched to the delivery area. Had to kill one trooper at the delivery point and that was it. I actually laughed because it was ridiculous how easy it was....everyone was way more concerned with getting kills.

The worst is still Endor. Sometimes you'll get a team that will just hide in one of the side corridors with the package and just camp there to get kills. It gets old really fast.

I had a fun moment as FO on third phase on Kessel iExtraction last night. I made my way up on the ledge and found a Deathtrooper raining death on people below trying to move the objective. I guarded his six from people coming through the door, he turned around when he saw the radar light up but they were dead, we virtually nodded with an understanding and kept it up until we won. One of the few times I’ve managed to win as FO when it gets to that phase.

  • Why are people are surprised these things happen when shooter games have daily challenges and progression based on kills... Sometimes people over think stuff :-)
