  • Just played my first full round. Seems to be working fine although I'm fairly certain we were up against a Yoda + 6 Wookiees at the same time. Needless to say we lost Phase 3. Still fun though! Played as Bossk most of phase 1 before getting straffed by an arc. Thanks for the anti-vehicle nerfs.. 🙄 made the board as Palps. Enjoyed the spawning system. Actually benefited me more than I expected in this particular round (as a flank junkie). Not a bad start.

    Sounds like a game-breaking bug though if you're going to have a glitch allowing lopsided teams. 6 Wookiees was a little much, considering we didn't have 6 Battle Droids available (probably cause we didn't know how to execute the glitch). Nor would I want to.
  • Oh, and a huge win? You guys remember the days where if you died and respawned as the Phase changed you would have to run all the way through the previous phase just to get to the current action? I know, it was almost 12 hours ago so I don't expect many to remember, but guess what?? That doesn't have to happen all the time, anymore! I like squad spawns. Fix the bugs, make some tweaks, but long live the squads!

    I like the system a lot. I approve of it.

    In the first part it shows how the glitch looks to the user directly affected by the overhead spectator view. The second clip shows the glitch in action causing the Heroes Limit per team to be raised/broken, as well as allowing for duplicate heroes if the users force it too.

    This concerns the patch update in general:

    I enjoy the variation of Clone Trooper skins. In my opinion, the battle droid vs. Clone match-ups were my least favorite for GA. Now with four different types of Clone Troopers skins it adds a cosmetic upgrade to the stages that is refreshing.

    The squad system offers some unique changes, and I do enjoy watching how others play while waiting to spawn than the deployment screen. BUT it can take much longer than desired to get spawned into the game. When getting killed we want to get right back into the action, not what at times were significant delays. It also really kills whatever momentum you had. Several times I was spawned right into heavy fire or disoriented and into a dangerous situation and was killed right away (reminiscent of the bad spawn era in HvV). I think it's a nice concept, but most are still going to play as individuals AND try to help the team win. I just want to spawn right back into the game without longer than a 10 second delay. Thanks.
  • I'm really enjoying the new system, have only played a few matches last night on Naboo and Kamino but it really enhanced the gameplay. Longer overtimes, easier for the attackers in some phases, easier for the defenders in others. Despite what others are complaining about I enjoy the squad system and can't wait to use it in the new large scale mode and geonosis.

    You need some delay or enemies will just be respawning back into existence a second after you killed them
  • I had the best round with Kylo just now on Takodana. 37 kill streak. Dominated first 2 phases. It was quite helpful having the occasional squad mate spawn on me as support. The fun ended at the hands of a Wookiee but that's cool. He caught me by surprise on a flank. I even chased some chickens! Heroes are just as fun, possibly even more fun, after this update.
  • It needs big changes. If you are going to put me in a random squad, at least we need to comunicate. 99% my companions were in combat I can't spawn.

    I don’t like the game now. Battles end too soon now because opponents can swam objectives and choke points. Also, spawning right in the line of fire sux hard. So far I’ve played; Kamino, Kasyyk and Naboo. Team was slaughtered every time, strangely on both sides of game play. This squad nonsense might be good for players who play similar games but for us noobs who this game got us into playing shooters.

    Just spawn default until you get the hang of it. It's actually quite beneficial to have options to spawn. But sometimes I choose default over a teammate because they have put themselves into an impossible situation. Not much has changed overall. It really just gives you more options. There are lots of bugs, but otherwise this is truly a step in the right direction.

  • Points need slower cd on them or raise the cap.
    MTT needs way more hp on it.
    And tickets will have to be increased to counter the squad spawning.
  • From a UI standpoint, it seems rather inconvenient to - instead of just respawning as the same class in the default place after the respawn timer finishes - to have to manually select the class and then move over to select default. Asides from taking longer to get back into the action, it makes the break in action a lot more noticeable.
    I would prefer it if the respawn timer dropped you back as the same class and in the default location if you just let it time out, but if you press X, THEN it takes you to the class select screen, and for the spawning-location-select-screen to be on 'default' as... well, default, rather than as a specific player.
    That way, players who want to get straight back into the action can do so without any effort, but players who WANT to choose/change their class and then CHOOSE a specific location have to navigate the menus; people who were going to navigate the menus anyway will do so, while people who don't need to or don't want to don't have to. Best of both worlds!

  • people asked to nerf the ion turret and you listened to the community. what about new maps ? last GA map was Craint almost 1 year ago. Today all my friends had issues while we tried to load the game . it says that we are offline and it takes many reboot to play the game : error 721. tonight games are unbalance (13 against 19). what is wrong with this game ?!?!? this is star wars !!!!! every time i came back at the main menu i have alot of popups that i gained 500 credits ... it is a shame that this game sucks so much . we all play this game since the beta. please remove the squad spawn. sometines i can be near friends and next game i'm alone and next one i'm with strangers. everytime you gave us a patch it came with bugs. and what about the skins... anyway ... not sure i will get an answers but i'm tired of the issues that are 'included' with the patchs
  • Apart from the known issues previous listed I think the timer should be a lot smaller, heroes shouldn’t be able to spawn with a hero and rather than it I like it (I haven’t used it on strike, as soon as I do I will let you know what I think)

    Something more, apart from the long OP officer there’s something going on with balance (I got killed as Palpatine with 300 of health by a vanguard and then I did the same to a Leia) and there’s something more, I don’t know if it’s a test but sometimes it seems that there’re no hero and vehicles limits

    I like the new system, it's chaotic but I like chaotic though. I do think it needs some work. 1. Get rid of not being able to select a vehicle until spawn timer goes down. If someone else has picked it up and there is max number at play, that's fine but then I know I don't have the option if someone else who has less of a spawn timer is going to take it. 2. Hero's start at default only. 3. give option to switch to a different squad if available, several times I got stuck playing with bad players who were not even playing, they were shooting at the sky or spinning in circles or purposely staying as far away from where the action is as possible.

    Also there is still balance issues. I think after both offense and defense play each side of one map, players should be randomly put on teams for next map (unless you are in a party)

  • Confirming class to respawn in extraction is not always working...cant select and check score like before...it seems to not always select the class.

  • On the plus side I can spawn closer to the frontline. On the UNplus side I can now see much faster how disoriented my team is towards accomplishing an objective good work. Now people like me who can't stand playing on a team of people just fooling around will quit early thusly killing this game faster. Sometimes it's better to be left in the dark, or at the home base spawn point
  • oh forgot.....it seems to have affected the hero limits or is allowing people to exploit these
  • Maybe switch off Hero/Villain from spawning on team mates and vice versa. Seeing wookies / trooper spawn at places only heroes can reach is very annoying.
  • XB1, there are a bunch of glitches with the squad system. Only noticed them in Strike... nothing in GA that I noticed.

    At one point, the spawn screen was up the whole time while I am playing as a Deathtrooper. I could also see the gameplay itself as I was doing well and lasted quite a while... but it was very distracting. The shooting/moving controls were functioning normally but I was also moving around between class and weapon while looking through the spawn screen to the actual gameplay. So bizarre. It happened as I chose DT last minute before starting the match.

    Then later in another match, I could not spawn at all... I just quit the game. The countdown at 10 wouldn’t move yet everyone else was able to play.

  • Also, in general it worked well on GA, I thought....mostly because there was less useless running. On Strike, it made it way more chaotic and less strategic as people were spawning left and right... don’t like it on Strike.

    At one point I got someone who was alone and right after I shot them, a random spawn popped up next to him and I died.... doesn’t seem fair but I guess it can happen.

    I agree. There needs to be a limit on how close you can spawn to an objective marker. Yesterday I spawned couple of times inside the cantina on Tattoine in GA. I think this makes it a bit unbalanced and disturbed the flow of the game.

    Any chance of changing the spawning animation? it seems to like not function properly, your arms are at your waist its just weird, you gun isnt ready at all. Any chance of changing it? Also it seems that when a specialist is using the binoculars it defines them as IN COMBAT. for some reason.

    Also squad spawning for heroes and reinforcements needs to go away. This combined with the ability to spawn inside an objective makes it unbalanced to say the least. Imagine Yoda and Finn spawning on wookiees or vise versa INSIDE the Juggernauts on Kashyyk.

    But i agree with a few people that Heros and enforcers shouldn't be able to
    Just played on Craig and the wookiees just kept popping up over and over throwing there nuke and having overload on
    Maybe the defending team should have tickets also
    We just kept killing them and they just as quickly got replaced

    New Skins/Appearances
    Definitely a plus point, both skins look awesome, even if not canon which I am not overly bothered by but understand others that are.

    Comments - more skins in general please!


    Server/Ping
    I set the Ping Location to the new ‘Default’ setting and I had an evening of connecting to games without empty servers or waiting, hopefully this fix sticks and we do not revert back to the appalling dead server issue that I had before. Although able to find games, HvV was suffering badly last night, in that every game I played did not refill after a round where people left? The odd person entered but then people left and eventually after a long time everyone would leave, this would then wash and repeat on the next server.

    The game did crash out on me twice, completely back to home and the sound seemed really buggy on certain maps, cutting out or sounding weird.

    Comments – looking forward to the EoR being turned on and the crash bug being fixed!


    Galactic Assault

    WOW what a mixed bag of feelings I have over this one…

    I will state that I have not played enough to truly give a deserved verdict but on first impressions I found that the rounds were fun but massively chaotic, the spawn in animation was ugly, often looking like you are awkwardly twisted and looking backwards. I do like the idea though and think that once the bugs are ironed out and some tweaks are made then the squad system will be a great addition.

    Comments – rounds were really quick, fast paced and chaotic, this was fun but the fun will wear thin quickly as strategy was completely absent and the rounds are definitely tipped in the defenders favour (I played 10 games of GA and 9 went to the defenders). Turn off the squad ability for heroes and enforcers, the system is promoting groups of them going on mass rampages together.

    Why have you added a timer to the selection screen? It really stops the fast flow of the mode and breaks your focus.

    Comments – looking forward to trying Blast out with the squad system.

    I understand the Ion Turret change, this was annoying and exploited but I do not understand the Ion Torpedo change, it is now pointless, and is no longer a viable option in the field. The last nerf saw Starfighter strafe runs being exploited again and big kill streaks by AT-STs, I understand that the buff that the Ion Torpedo got was a little OP but it has now swung way too far the other way.

    Comments – the Ion Torpedo damage should have been left as was with the buff but the lock on mechanics should have been adjusted by not allowing you to stay locked on after each shot and making you rerun the lock on timer each time, this would have given AT-STs time to react and counter.

  • I like the squad system... takes some real skill as a PUBG player - but the game play is insane. Nice job on the algorithm
    ...the game has a history of 'every player for themselves' - so, give the new squad system some time - cuz' its like jumping outta a plane with no parachute at the moment... but much overdue. As an objective player - the squad system is the only way to enjoy this game (IMO)

  • I love the new squad idea but I keep having the same glitch happen, I’m in the game and then it takes me out because I didn’t spawn into the game after joining it the right way. If that makes any sense!

    I picked up on this too, I had a game where one of the players on my team was literally bouncing around near the back, away from the action just shooting scenery :(

    I also had players who were clearly AFK

    But one really annoying thing is when your team are made up of tanks and heroes, the heroes rarely have a down time and you can't spawn in on vehicles...

    I saw some appalling hero play, and now understand how people who play Palpatine the way they do can rack up over 100 kills by skirting the action and not pushing the objective.

    In SA its annoying

    1. Had issues to not able to respawn at all
    2. Random kill switch on me
    3. Cant lock any heroship for 5 seconds, which is ridiculous!

    Sa doesnt need this feature, noone asked for it, so put it back as it was. Ga is fine

  • I played earlier today and all weapons and cards were locked out from me, could only use the basic equipment
  • overall an improvement, I think.

    for a below average player like me, much improved ratio of "action" time to "running towards action" time.

    agree with many though that spawning within objective zones can make it too easy to maintain control there.

    and weird that specialist using binoculars is classed as in combat, doesn't feel intended

  • Have only played GA about 6 games and here is my initial thought. Many times my squad was engaged in a fight and couldn't spawn on them for quite some time. Many times I would just choose default (which should be automatically highlighted by the way, not have to click over 3 times) as this gave me a fresh start and could strategically give my squad a closer span point after they inevitably would die 3 seconds later.
    I like the concept but thought BF 2015 was better when you just had one partner to spawn on and your abilities would refresh quicker, encouraging team play. I would be in favor of that as opposed to this system. The other idea is to just move each teams spawn 10-20 meters closer. I think the biggest frustration that prompted the outcry for the squad system was the lengthy runs back to the battlefront after dying.
    One issue I did notice too was a lot of grenade spam. As people are respawning on their squad mates with refreshed abilities. Perhaps take this away?

  • Again I like the less running, but I think the ability to spawn while your teammates are in combat needs some work.

    Supposedly not possible, but I have noticed people spawning when their teammate is nearby. What is considered in combat? Being shot at or shooting or being too close?

    Also because of this, chokepoints have become ridiculous with this new system of spawning leaving GA and Strike in particular with matches that are less than optimal in the level of fun.
  • I got to play many rounds of Galactic Assault last night and the only problem I noticed was once both my buddy and I spawned in as Kylo Ren together.

    I haven't had a chance to make any other observations about potential problems or tweaks, but I had great fun last night.
