  • I still play heavy and haven't noticed a different
    At least on some maps it's not like getting past the Hindenburg line
  • As a heavy player since day one who destroys 99% of regular infantry players including reinforcements(around 60% of success on 1V1 against Aerials, wookies, deathtroopers), indeed, I have noticed an infestation of heavy players in the last month in GA and Blast, funny part is most of those players haven”t realized yet, since 1.19 patch, ion turrets do not lock on infantry anymore, give them 2 more days for it. I got killed more from an officer turret than from officer guns for example, annoying pesky officers whom I take pride wrecking them in big numbers on a daily basis.
  • There's nothing wrong with encouraging players to play closer to the objective. I was seeing many heavies setting up turrets farther back than most specialists play. This is a good change IMO.
  • Let Official take care of the troopers and Heavy take care of the vehicles.
  • When they tone down officers bp gain.
    Bp balance for all troops will have begun . ;)
  • Lol, I never use the Ion Turret, so this nerf actually compliments my gameplay. It means I can now even more easily out-score the Heavies who rely on the Ion turret.

  • If having the ion turret target soldiers was a big part of your gameplay, then there's going to be a period of adjustment.

    But don't give up on the Heavy! I think I scored my highest total ever in a match of GA last night with the Heavy.

  • IF you are a heavy main that relies on your ion turret for kills, then you are using the class wrong. Heavy is my most played class and i dont think i have ever used the ion turret.

  • I'm gonna have so much fun on Hoth and Starkiller Base killing all the ground troops with my fighters and they're not going to be able to touch me. They could barely kill me before the nerf. Now they never will. Lol.

    Please tell me the difference of a no skill weapon and a skilled weapon when BOTH are the same in that you point and shoot. One has a slow TTK, the other does not, but please do tell, I can’t wait to hear this one.

    I think many posts were wrong to make fun. All loadouts are perfectly acceptable and a matter of personal preference.

    I don't play with the ion turret, but it got a huge nerf, so I can understand it would be jarring to suddenly lose that. But don't lose heart! The heavy is great with other loadouts.

    Thank you, My point simply being is that it takes all kinds of players to make a team, those good at CQB and those in a support role. The trend seems to be taking away the tools we use in a support role. Eventually GA will be a game of blast on a much larger scale.
  • Again is this over the ion turret not locking onto infantry? Because it still locks onto vehicles and you are not required to use it.

    Same on Galactic assault. Especially on Hoth. Holding the hanger with yellow bar and explosive shots. No one gets through

    Try out the officer. It's the ultimate support class. It's probably going to get a decrease in battle point generation at some point, but that class helps your teammates heal faster with Officer's Presence, has a turret, a great grenade, and several different team buffing Commands.

    I wouldn't necessarily give up on the Heavy though, I think it's a great class. I just don't think of it as support.

  • A mortar doesn't take much skill either, but it does what it's suppose to on the battlefield.
    The turret is futuristic version of the mortar, it is meant to hold and control the battlefield lines against infantry.
    It is the Heavies Main purpose in the game.

    What takes absolutely no skill is shooting an annoying turret. git gud pls

  • Heavy is alive and very well. The ion turret needed that change. There was nothing more annoying nor noobish than seeing 5 red blinking lights at the top of a hill across the map hitting troopers, while the spoon that set them is camping in the corner. This needed to happen and I'm so glad it did.

    What else have you people been doing with the Heavy??? Heavy is an objective BP gaining machine, no? I can almost keep pace with Officers on maps like Naboo, Hoth, Kashyyyk, and Crait attacking the Vehicle objectives.

    I Never would base my opinion of a class in this game off an Ability that’s not on the class standard. It’s not even base class use. It’s an option. So how on earth would it “Kill” the class if it isn’t even affecting the base of the class itself lol!? :lol:

    Are you talking starfighters? It is easy to avoid starfighters.

    And it was easy for them to avoid the ion torpedo, but they had to do it. Now they can just attack at will, there should be a counter other than hiding.

    It is not solely based around the ion turret, but it is one of their greatest weapons for holding the line which is their main purpose in game. Sure it's easy to Rambo/Heavy loadout, but many like to play the support role.
    Your speed boost and vanguard for Assault are not your main bases for playing that class, but I bet you'd be really disappointed if they removed those abilities just because people found them annoying and couldn't adapt.

    I'm predominantly an Assault and Heavy player, and I have never used the Ion Turret. I've just found other items more useful. I'm glad that the turrets got changed, though.

    That’s Not what’s being discussed here though at this time/today. And I was very publicly vocal about being against that back then. It wasn’t needed or necessary. In fact, I said and I quote “Be careful what you wish for, it will be over nerfed”. And here we are today. :neutral:

    Ion turrets Starcard states that it targets infantry. The Heavy was Promoted along side the capabilities of the turret. Whether or not it's a base feature, my point was that of things being annoying in game, and should we start removing said items because a minority says so? Because I find it to be a slippery slope if we go down this road.

    As far as Torpedoes, they were too powerful against most land based vehicles, but now skies are free to rain DFA. Great balance.

  • Seriously? No one is resting. Everyone's alive and well. Just the over abused part of them is resting. The game isnt what's an issue sometimes. It's the players who abuse these things. When Palpatine was broken, every palpatine in GA was doing the lightning through walls glitch. Then when DICE fixes him, everyones on RIP Palpatinethis and that. No.
    Players just really like being OP and being a *****. The o ly thing they care about is kills and being first. If everyone played fair (which is impossible) games would be more fun.

    Wait the lightening through walls thing is a glitch!? I thought it was just his annoying power, it still happens.
