It's the most objective play I've seen in a long time and the low cost of Heroes made it less risky to PTO with Heroes so running right into the action was a lot more viable than it usually is.
I miss Heroes Unleashed. Please, if it only remains as an event, make it a monthly one. It's nice to have something else to play besides the two maps in Extraction.
i just voted positively to keep this Event
my thoughts here @ https://battlefront-forums.ea.com/discussion/121645/appreciation-for-heroes-unleashed-event
As of now In order not to split the player base, i would prefer to have it to as a Special GA Event though. Making this available every two weeks frequency sounds just about right to keep everyone happy, prevent Players Fatigue and let it remain Special

Would love to see it happen again, as I rarely get to play heroes in GA.
I’m almost always in the middle of the scoreboard, so even if I get enough points for a hero, most times someone else has grabbed them first.
...it’s difficult “getting good” when it seems there’s always some top tier players getting all the heroes within 30 seconds of the match starting, and then slaughtering the rest.
Would therefore welcome future events or it being made permanent (alongside regular GA), as us average players have to practice somewhere!
I like that idea. Every two or three weeks would be awesome, keep it fresh but not so rare that it'd be upsetting to miss a round due to a busy weekend.

That Specialist rework was disappointing.
This sums up what I felt playing it all weekend.
I thought you didnt even play it? Or touch it as you said
I wen't from playing the game from maybe once a month(no Joke), in line with the updates, to totally cracking out like I did at launch with the new Hero mode. Never had so much fun with this game in months! Like, really. This would've blown the solo season out the water 10-1, and really you only just edited one of the modes. With it gone now, alas, I'm back to playing other older games, shame, I was just getting started too.
To answer your question though, should it be made into it's own separate mode......
YES! MAKE IT APERMANENT MODE UNDER THE HEROES TAB! I would literally play this game every chance I got over anything else if this was the level of excitement I could always expect. Instead of the frankly boring wash that is every other mode.
@F8RGE, @Total_fPs, ect. Keep up the good work!
Long story short, Dice, your on the right track. Make this game mode permanent and you will literally have me and my friends playing non-stop again, like at launch.
Never tell me the odds. - Han Solo
The event itself was a good chance to test the heroes in GA that are about to receive a HoK card.
Other than that the gameplay itself was chaotic and getting a hero had 0 meaning for you. It didn't feel competitive at all just a hero spam fest. And with the combined superior defensive capabilities of the LS heroes unless you were facing a bad team it was near impossible to win as attackers especially on Naboo and Kamino.
Overall interesting event though it should stay as it is, an event.
Why?
1.) it was forced on those who like to play GA as it is - no choice either play it or don't
2.) Officers battlepoint gain has still not been addressed
3.) People sitting in the lobby to grab a hero and not actually playing
4.) Most of the time heroes did not play objectives
5.) Absolutely no balance
6.) Heroes should be earned, not given away
Maybe it can be permanent in a focused and appropriate mode, but for the love of God not in the normal Galactic Assault where the number of heroes must be lowered and not increased.
Why?
1. GA was old and boring. No new maps.
2. This event sparked excitement and mayhem.
3. Fast paced action and combat.
4. Strategies changed and people pushed
5. Heroes on my teams played the objectives.
6. Low cost heroes made us not worry about dying.

- Lots of players are waiting in the menu screen to select a hero -> less people on the battlefront
- Bad players getting a hero
Or make a separate gamemode for 8vs8
Obviously, there are going to be those whom did not enjoy the event. However, going through your list, numbers 2-5 have nothing to do with the event itself; they are just different complaints that have been debated for many months.
Ditto...
All jokes aside, though...
I feel that this event is not compatible with Galactic Assault. Allow me to expand.
It completely disrupts the pacing of GA and while this is not necessarily a bad thing, I feel that it has more cons than pros.
I am a fairly good player and I always do the objective thoroughly in every game mode (GA and HvV being my favorite ones). I played the event for two days and what I witnessed was this:
I'll start with the cons:
- people running frantically around, focusing on the heroes and not the objective and in the end GA felt like HvV from Battlefront 2015; I feel that GA should be first and foremost focused on the soldiers and objective play
- we were almost equally skilled teams and we were always trading wins on defense; a few examples, Naboo is impossible to win as attackers with 8 heroes in the throne room defending it, it felt rather silly hero after hero entering the Cantina on Tatooine while our team as Empire were desperately trying to capture it on extra time without reinforcements
- the timer for hero respawn was too long and it kept people (me included) waiting in the pre-battle screen for a hero to be available again; should this event return, the timer has to go
- I was rather disappointed that we couldn't play 2-3 of the same hero (2 or more Vaders on the Battlefront would have been dope)
Pros:
- it gave casual players the greater chance to play as a hero/villain in GA (but they can already play instantly without interruptions heroes or villains in a dedicated mode; in case you didn't get the hint, I wasn't a big fan of Battlefront 2015 HvV mechanics, namely the part that heroes/villains could slice so easily normal troops)
- it was a nice testing ground for future events
How it can be improved:
- what I would like to see (and I believe many other players want, too) is a mode like Mos Eisley Assault from Battlefront 2 2005 with 20 vs 20 heroes and villains. Now THAT would be epic.
- 8 on 8 heroes will be more suited for a mode like Strike (where only Heroes/Villains and Special Units are present), not GA

I know some of you worry about splitting the playerbase, but some of us wont touch hero fun time anyway.

I'd love to at least try out a No Heroes Weekend.
The only people who want to make it permanent are those who can't get heros in GA. If you can't get heros, there is a game mode called HVV.
Leave GA untouched and focused on fixing bugs.
Also adding it in as a new game mode will also be a terrible idea, it will divide the player base even further and we all know the player base isn't that high to begin with nowdays.
[Removed Vulgar Language]
The only people who don't want to make it permanent are those who want to steamroll in GA. If you don't like heroes, there is a game mode called Extraction/Blast/Strike.
Leave GA forgotten and focused on fixing bugs.
Also adding it in as a new game mode will also be a great idea, it will divide the player base so that the ones who want to have fun will be having fun with heroes, the whole point of buying a Star Wars game, and the old, set in their ways steamroll crowd, who shun anything that endangers their win streaks, will be left playing with themselves in a GA ghost town.
This will popularize the game with a lot of people (who currently avoid GA at all costs) even further and we all know the player base isn't that high to begin with nowadays.....so that would be a great thing.

Find me in HvV, pushing people off of stuff and watching them fall, like a cat.
Agree, It should be in he HvV section maybe. The last game had 3 bigs including WA, Supremacy, and Turning Point. They could give us original GA, Heroes GA, and the upcoming conquest/Supremacy mode.

That might be your opinion but the statements are not true. Plenty of people loved the event and get heroes regularly and place at the top of the leader boards.
You should concentrate on things that you can prove instead of your misconceptions.

Not to mention that it DID pull in the HvV crowd, who actually DO know how to play heroes, plus we've had plenty of time to master a wide range of them, so we are probably more well rounded (skill wise) than the GA guys who typically only ever play whoever they can stay alive the longest with.
I was the only person I saw in there running around with their lightsaber turned off. On a night map.
Maybe what GA needs is some experienced HvV players to show folks how it's done.

Exactly me & my friends play hvv a lot usually we set up 4v4s so we don't play randoms & we destroyed so many heros cause we actually know how to play as heros
I always turn off my lightsaber in Galactic Assault. It's crazy not to.
I agree with you completely.
If HU version of GA becomes a new game mode, the original GA will become a ghost town. Just look at current poll results. All new players will gravitate to HU.
I think that the players who usually play in clans had problems coordinating an attack with the chaos of HU. In my opinion (I always play with randoms), that is a big plus. This in consequence mitigated the clan impact in steamrolls.
Agreed.
Now there were some balancing issues. Certainly there were times when 2-3 heroes stuck together and made life miserable for the opposing troops, but luckily it never lasted very long because 2-3 heroes would come along and take them out.
Maybe it was just me, but I found that I was lasting MUCH longer as a hero during this event than ever before. And even if I didn't last very long before getting cut down, it wasn't stressful because I knew that soon enough I'd have enough points for another hero and I'd be right back out there. Again FUN.
I can see how it completely changes the complexion of Galactic Assault, which felt like an entirely different game mode. In addition to there being more heroes at all times, there were also more vehicles—which again changed the mode for the better. More people played the objectives too, which was refreshing to see. I loved it.
In conclusion, one of three things needs to happen here:
1) GA should get a permanent reduction of all battle point units across the board (and the increase to 8 Heroes per side) to make Heroes unleashed a permanent feature in GA.
2) GA should see a compromise that reduces battle points for heroes significantly yet not quite to the levels it was in the heroes unleashed event. The goal would be the emulate the chaos from HU while maintaining some of the integrity of GA
3) Leave GA as is and instead allow 8 heroes per side at all times with 1100-1500 BP triggers for the new "Command Post" mode. The Command post mode should be that chaotic sandbox experience.
Personally I'd like to see #2 and #3. I think that would make the experience so much more gratifying.
One thing we've learned here, is that heroes should not be a reward or bonus available to only those who are really good with heroes or have accu malted the most points, but instead should be a more frequent part of the battlefront experience. Heroes Unleashed has shown what greatness of which this game is capable.
I honestly didn't expect to like it when i read about before it started, but actually playing it changed my mind.
Like others already said, the matches were much closer and barely any slaughter for either side, no more Heros just hanging back and farming kills while the troopers who actually tried to push get slaughtered by the enemies heros, instead everyone played agressive and pushed the objectives.
I don't think i have seen as many matches decided in overtime on any weekend before this.
Another positive thing i noticed was people playing different classes more frequently, i guess many didn't feel like they need to choose Officer to get points as fast as possible.
