I'll Just Go Ahead and Say It... Grievous' Damage Output is OP

Prev1
That dude puts out way too much damage per swing. If you are a blaster user, he is literally more difficult to take on up close than Vader.

I know his abilities are buggy and need some tweaking, but I'd also recommend looking at a damage per swing reduction.

Just my two cents.

  • He's not fine.

He's routinely at the top of the scoreboard in HvV. Both when I play him and when others play him. And this is without using 2/3rds of his special abilities. And at level 8 versus full epic 40s.
  • He’s fine
  • He’s fine
  • My only nitpick about him is the hitbox on Claw Rush seems too generous. It's almost impossible to avoid it if the guy playing GG can steer. Otherwise, he's fine, melt him on the regular with Han, and Chewie melts everyone.

I agree. He can two-hit full-health heroes from behind. But it’s all he’s got because two of his abilities are ineffective.

What’s really disappointing is that his whole thing is the 4-saber wielding. Not only can he not do that, but both of the abilities that even involve 4 sabers don’t work. He doesn’t feel like Grievous, he feels like a generic ogre who button mashes people into the ground.

I guess you don't know how to roll properly
  • He's fine.

As GG in HvV I've lost to numerous Han Solo's who just roll away and shoot me up, more often then I'd care to admit. But if GG gets the jump on you, you're toast, as it should be.

Not only that but it does multiple stuns and damage.

His clawrush cancel combo is instant death for whoemever it hits. I love him
  • He's fine. If anything Blaster heroes completely destroy him if they have a stun.

    That Specialist rework was disappointing.

  • He is just fine.

His damage output is to compensate his fast stamina drain and the fact that he cannot take many hits from blasters and Chewie's bowcaster.
  • Obviously fix the known bugs in his abilities. Other than that he is fine.

Yeah, so uh, it should be difficult for all blaster users to take on all saber users up close.
  • Much OP please nerf

I’ve been ganged up on pretty hard in this thread so far...

I’m not talking a major nerf to damage per swing - I understand that he is slow and has low stamina which is why he does so much damage.

I’m just coming at this from the standpoint that any unbuffed hero/villain that can kill another full-health hero/villain by landing 2 hits (whether lightsaber or blaster) needs a damage output reduction. 3 is a lot different than 2.

But he can literally 2 shot lower base health light side heroes when they’re at full health. It feels almost like getting nicked by the corner of a speeder as a trooper on Starkiller Base.

Yeah, but he can only do so from behind, and he cannot go off radar, plus most of the time he coughs and reveals his position. He's fine.

  • I have his cards all blue. Almost every single time I play HvV I’m in the top 2 with him. If you know how to play him you can do a lot of damage and stay alive with the right cards. On the reverse a good blaster hero can make things interesting.

It all boils down to knowing when to use abilities and not waste them and staying in front of your opponent and not flailing your saber swings. Timing, movement and patience.

Now that the... “He’s fine” joke has begun to run it’s course,

I think you WILL be right if they ever fix his other abilities or increase his health stats. At the moment, he sort of needs his melee to be OP.

He is fine. OP just doesn’t like the fact he keeps getting killed by him

Nothing more annoying than seeing a HvV opposition team distracted, you get behind them with Grievous, sneaking in for the kill....and he starts coughing and rambling on really loudly, alerting the entire enemy team to the fact you are behind them.

Then getting hit by Chewie's shock grenade, Lando's disabler, Han's detonite charge and getting absolutely massacred
