  • Seps spawn camping the at-te walkers was a big issue in my last match. Needs a different default spawn that is further back, with at-te spawn as a different option.
  • I’ve played a handful of times and I’m still not sure what to do on the last stage...

  • I thought you captured well the concept of an all-out total war, the wide open chaos, the "fog of war" in a well-rendered setting. My first game was on the Republic side, and I ran around not really knowing what to do. I kept seeing the prompts to get into an AT-TE, so I did. I tried to move it forward and it would not move, so I just fired artillery and ended up with a 32 streak. Some guy then repeatedly spammed me and called me "trash" among other nasty things. When my vehicle finally blew up the game ended. I'm sure with more experience, as with the rest of the stages, I'll play along the objectives properly.
  • I got hung up by an invisible wall when I was in a walker as well. Had to go backwards and around. Then got hung up on small debris that the walker should have been able to get by
  • I noticed their was a lot more joking between the droids as well. No real opinion on it. just thought it was interesting.

    Anyone getting super distorted sound on Geonosis? It sounds like blown speakers - audio overload? Only on Geonosis. On PS4
  • Team balancing and matchmaking is AWFUL so far on Geonosis.

    For some reason its seems worse having non prequel era heroes on geonosis. Especially when Luke and obi wan are both there.

  • doesnt feel like Geonosis at all, No geonosians, Missing their weapon sound effect which is part of the immersion. You dont even have NPC varients of geonosians.
    No Droidekas. No Air support in Galactic assault on Geonosis. (as a Starpilot im really digging being forced to play GEONOSIS WITHOUT ANY FREAKING SHIPS TO FLY, IN GALACTIC FREAKING ASSAULT!) TERRIBLE IDEA!
    Servers are all garbage and bloated atm, Patch broke a lot of optimization for PC.
    And for some reason you thought it would be a great idea to force us to play Geonosis only. a Planet that is lacking in immersion and content. New players will be deterred by these new issues, the game ALREADY has a bad reputation.
    A lot of players will be giving it a chance due to it being on sale and having "Geonosis content".
    They will be dissappointed. The game is worse after the patch, and i dont even mind the buffs and or nerfs, I mind the quality of the service, and the FORCED PLAYLIST CHOICE For Galactic assault.
    You literally screwed over the pilots, bet we could of bombed those Separatist ships taking off or the clone Walkers.
    I cant believe i suggested this game to my friend only a week earlier!
    VERY DISAPPOINTED.

    You will get compliments for a job well done when a Job is WELL DONE.

  • Feels unfair the new map is not in arcade what is even worse is that Dev's ignore arcade also 80k for this new Look? EA are you taking your med's every day cause, I don't see improvement in this game we wait for like year for this so called DLC and we get like online only map with Buggy heroes ? Takes forever to get update now that it arrives not only i don't feel like wasting time on it but i also feel like we waited to long for what was supposed to be great thing and it is not it simply what was suppose to come last update...   • Bad first:

    STAP speeder aims at ground too close and not easy to shoot where I want to. Reticule bobbing.

    No spider droids player controllable.
    No hailfire droid for players.
    Not enough ships interaction or choice.

    Obi-Wan's rush saber blocking ability (Left shoulder button) looks very poorly animated, like a new starts first attempt.

    Obi-Wan's dodge feels slow or ineffective but that might be me missing the point or needing to learn him better.

    Obi-Wan's repeating the same phrase too much when activating mind trick with General Grieves...nit picking on this really.

    Don't like the new force power/stamina reticule overheat/exhaustion, the original way of filling up made more sense to me and was more visible.

    Good stuff:
    Map is different and feels open although it makes me want a real open full planet/universe world even more now. Or at least keep adding to it or expanding physical space and things to do in it (vehicle size etc.)

    Obi-Wan's push charge is excellent!
    Obi-Wans attack on downed enemy's look s good I think.


    Extra additions I'd like:
    New moves for Jedi/Sith selectable via a wide range of cards for new additional card slots with Rare moves unlockable or findable etc.

    The emporer gets his lightsaber option. Activate lightsaber with Y and it also still has some shoulder button powers or alternatives.

    Lightsaber Combos!

    Make an Elite Dangerous/Star Citizen Star Wars open galaxy/universe....

    For all those who were wondering about what to do in Phase 3:

    The walkers need to reach the capture point at the end. I think it's kinda obvious, because it's locked and can't be captured. The objectives are always clear and in my opinion were easy to achieve. Since they've upgraded the health for the AT-TEs it's been a lot easier to win as the Republic.

    I've played Geonosis for about 5-6 hours now and as far as I can tell, it always comes down to your team playing the objectives. If your team doesn't destroy the walkers, then the Republic will easily win. If the walkers don't move foward, then you'll see one after another being destroyed. Oh and after destroying the Hardcells in Phase 2 the Republic obviously gets new reinforcements, so stop focusing on racking up kills and instead play the objective.

    So far I must say that I really like this map, but I have to agree to a lot of points mentoined in this thread. We need more variety. And of course I'd like to see playable Spider Droids, LAATs, ARC Troopers, no cross-era heroes, etc.

    - (Also maybe some starfighters, however might be weird with the sandstorm so not a priority)
    - The thing with the Wookiee’s of course, would love to see some awesome new clone reinforcements (ARC troopers maybe)
    - the sniper thing, impossible to take down as the ATTE but sniper can shoot from anywhere, however a skilled ATTE driver could probly deal with this. Maybe just lower the damage from sniper slightly just on the ATTE


    Another small, more general thing, can you add more clone wars music playing more often? Like the trailer song, or the droid March song, just feels so epic in the trailer and the music would really add that feel while playing.

    Haven’t really played enough to point out too much. In general tho super cool, everything looks great! Only thing is vehicles, add more!

    -Great graphics on the level
    -Love the feel of it, feels like I'm in the movie
    -Vehicles I think play well, after playing them a few times ya get the hang of it
    -Like current hero Limits
    -Do not add star fighters please
    -Phase 1 seems hard for clones

  • I am loving the map. My first reaction was a big smile as I felt I was there.
    However, although I do feel like I am in a battle it lacks the proportion of it. I think this map is ideal for the introduction of bots.
    When I spawn into this map what I want is to shoot everywhere and beeing shot from everywhere.
    Spider droids should be playable.
    LAAT needs to be playable (not on rails)
    Officers need armors
    We need Mace Windu. I can't picture a battle in Geonosis without Master Windu leading the troopers

    I agree with marking the spider droids... You don't even see their HP. Sometimes it's hard to know if you should keep shooting or not (the sandstorm doesn't help). So, they should have some kind of enemy marker, or even an objective one.

    I do not usually play GA but gave it a go, amazing map though too chaotic, Teamed in with 7 others, and no one had a clue. Complaints regarding STAP shooting the ground mot of the time.
    Suffered massive graphics stuttering during the match, and again later in HVV, only since the update so whats the reason for that?
    Oh the other gripe from people in HVV why have you put us only on Clone era maps, pain in the rear, and so boring most of the guys got fed up after 2 hours and went off to play a different game (not mode).
  • Make playable the Homing Spider Droids, Dwarf Droids and Hailfire Droids. Overall the map is gorgeous, lot of fun and one of the best GA of the game. Good job.
  • This map and gameplay takes the game to a whole new level! Incredible work guys! Just the size, scale and height is what makes it phenomenal - to look down onto the actual battlefront and be shooting tiny battle droids miles away is beautiful! So many vehicles, so much chaos, the thrill of destroying the tower only to be crushed by it, simply incredible! Please do more maps just like this...

    Yeah. I'd like to help out by hitting spider droids with my NT, but I can't tell if it makes a difference.

    My thoughts on the update (apologies in advance if some of these repeat with others, I haven't read back too much):

    GOOD

    - The map itself is visually stunning. Absolutely beautiful. Props for this. The size of the map is great too - conquest will be epic on Geonosis.
    - I like the living world side of things. Hearing the Geonosians and seeing them flying above everywhere in the catacomb like areas on phase 1 is great. Likewise, phase 2 and 3 seeing the battle alongside the map areas, with AT-TEs dropping in and dwarf spider droids battling away, makes it feel like a massive battle, as it should be.
    - Phases 2 and 3 are great. Whilst taking a while to get used to what was going on (first couple of games felt mad), those 2 phases in particular feel great with the use of vehicles, battling through the terrain, etc.
    - The sandstorm effect is cool, particularly at a distance when you can see the blaster bolts flying from all directions. Felt it also gives you a bit of cover as a saber hero too (with the saber turned off of course).
    - The BARC is excellent, feels very smooth.
    - The AT-TE feels powerful enough being in one, great fun.
    - Sound and visual effects of the OG-9 are very well done.
    - 212th skins look great. Obi-Wan skin and Grievous skin both look good too.
    - The cinematics at the start and victories for both sides are great, particularly the Republic winning!
    - Obi-wan specifically feels fairly well balanced (to me at least) upon release. Yes a few bugs (see next section) but is very viable both in HvV and GA. Feels like he can hold his own against troopers and certain villains. His lines are perfect too.

    COULD IMPROVE

    - Despite liking the living world, it would have been even better to see actual Geonosian models peeking out of catacombs or running off the map. Or hearing their weapons firing off in the distance.
    - Phase 1 - I find clones can end up spawn camping droid areas fairly easily. I find phase 1 tends to end quickly due to this.
    - For phases 2 and 3, it might have been good to see a hint or something appear in a box i.e. when you are in an AT-TE something like 'go into siege mode and use the ion shot to damage the hardcell transports'. I found in the first few games a lot of players didn't seem to know what they were doing. Some hints to keep the battle moving would have been good. Phase 3 especially as it feels like all troopers and heroes just rush to the capture zone whilst AT-TEs hang back, not seeming to realize what the objective is and what to do. Less of a problem once everyone gets the hang of it, but maybe food for thought on future GA maps.
    - I find the AT-TE's still go down too easily despite the buff to health server side (props for noticing this straight away though DICE!). I have seen more Republic victories now but put a few specialists with NT disruptors together and the AT-TE's get obliterated fairly quickly.
    - Likewise, I think a time limit may need added to phase 3 for the Republic. Something still lengthy, but a limit nonetheless. The reason I think this is due to the fact in one game last night (as Seps) we faced an AT-TE pilot on phase 3 who decided to move to the back of the map low down and hide behind the terrain. He couldn't be hit. This ended up going on for about 40-45 minutes before he must of got bored, moved forward and was destroyed. This used to happen in BF15 when someone would get R2 on the Death Star and sit at the back of the map (had limit of respawns then at least).
    - Obi-Wan has a few bugs - all out push doesn't always register (despite me having the range card equipped), his 'your move' emote goes through the 'absolutes' animation. Few audio bugs with the saber too.
    - Obi-Wan also feels like he takes a while with his mind trick animation.
    - Sound bugs on PS4 with Geonosis, such as crackling in phases 2 and 3 (not all the time though) and a nitpicking one in Grievous' theme plays about half an hour after he enters if you pick him!
    - The STAP feels fairly slow, and awkward to aim with. Always seems to be too low and is hard to raise the trigger.
    - Would have liked the OG-9's to be playable, and/or the Dwarf Spider Droids. At the very least an icon to destroy the OG-9's needs to be added when in the AT-TE.

    Definitely a great edition though, looking forward to the new mode being playable on it.

  • I managed to play maybe 5-6 games of Geonosis yesterday evening. I even stayed up a bit later on a work night to play it. Which is rare for me, I normally sign off a little before or after 23:00 UK time but I felt like I had to play it.

    The Good
    - It feels very different, felt familiar enough to be like GA but different enough to feel like almost a new game mode. Nice!
    - Its well balanced; the clones lack the support of the Wookies and instead get the AT-TE's, the droids get the advantage of having the Super Battle Droids.
    - Grievous and Obi Wan look wicked on this map.
    - It feels like all out war, people who say it feels chaotic are missing the point. Its called Battlefront , so try and not be too surprised you are placed on......the battlefront. The first phase feels less like all out chaos, it escalates perfectly.

    The Bad
    - I really do think we need Droidekas now. I never really shared the view until now.
    - Frustrating we cannot use the spider droids.
    - STAP is rock hard to control, what a nightmare.


    DICE dropped a clear hint to us and you'd be blind not to miss it. Droidekas are surely planned for 2019 - but they are not allowed to say yet. Why on earth after the controversy with the Kashyyyk image and the Droidekas would they add a clear and legible voice line nodding at Droideakas? They are not just dropping hints here, they are telling you they are coming IMHO. You do not further irritate and aggravate your player base by taunting them. They are giving you Geonosis , Obi Wan, and a hint of whats to come in 2019 surely.

Especially in the beginning, moving down the hill after 2nd phase has started, AT-TEs loose much health without necessarily able to do something against it.

    3. do not quite understand why homing spider droids are not playable. First I thought, that maybe they just were not finished in time (especially since they do not move on the main map), but they can aim, they can fire (2 different kinds of shots) and, as seen in the background, they can indeed move. Giging the separatist these droids or maybe just 4 in total would make a great improvement.

    What now definitely needs to come is some kind of Arcade Galactic Assault. Geonosis feels great but in Arcade, without any vehicles and a way smaller map, this would quickly become just boring.

    I personally like it. Looks good with the blaster bolts flying around and gives you some decent cover to flank. I personally like weather effects in maps. Sandstorm in Mos Eisley would be immense.

  • This map will be sniper heavy. My last match i got taken down often by snipers. Anyone having issues sith obi force push, does not work for me at all?

    1. If you mean getting stuck while going up the ramp... It happened to me and I did everything I could (even exiting and reentering) until I finally got unstuck. I lost half my HP thanks to this and I spent a few minutes doing nothing useful.
    2. Yes, completely. I don't know how that would work without upsetting the balance, but it would be welcomed on the last phase. The AT-TEs are slow and a dedicated team of droids can melt them down once they spawn if nobody tries to protect them.

    You have to find one on the map that has not yet been claimed (the objective icon say Enter AT-TE and show a small tank), run under it and press square when the prompt shows. Then its yours until you decide to exit. It works like the Tauntaun on Hoth or the turrets on maps like Death Star or Mos Eisley. If you see a shield icon and the words defend over the AT-TE, that means it is taken and you should protect it. Just in case, if you enter one and you are on phase 2 your right ability is the ion missile you need to shoot at the towers but you need to enter Siege Mode first (middle ability).

    The AT-TE? They get dropped in from the transports in phases 2 and 3, they don't appear in the respawn screen. They have a blue AT-TE icon on the HUD that says something like 'enter AT-TE' if they are empty.

    Also, Obi-Wan's all out push can be hit and miss. I randomly found in HvV it worked every time, but not in arcade or GA

  • Great content! Just wondering how long it'll be til I can actually play as Obi-wan and start to level him up in either GA or HVV, as he's quite obviously always taken. :/

    Geonosis Pros:
    -Awesome visuals

    - Nice additions of the newer vehicles

    -Good mix of close quarters combat and wide expanses with varied elevation gameplay.

    Geonosis Cons:


    - Phase 1 feels a bit to easy to hold as CIS on transport side.

    - Phase 1 Objective isn't as clear once one has been taken. (for instance, half the team followed the AT-TE after capturing the transport side, while me and a few stragglers tried to upload the on comms. side, and handily losing the match due to the other half of the team not realizing there was another objective to complete.

    - AT-TE has quite a bit of difficulty traversing the terrain in some areas of the open expanse, which I ran into at least twice. (Less "All Terrain" and more "Some Terrain")

    -The overall experience has a strong start but kind of teeters off once phase 3 starts and kind of has a weak ending.

    -Phase 3 is kind of anti-climactic. Most other phase 3's have it set up to make the capture more difficult to take but this one feels too easy.

    -Phase 3: No major intense music to set the scene,(until the round has ended) when transitioning into a losing or winning scenario like in other maps on phase 3.

    -Phase 3 Has no clear last objective to capture or defend, despite the HUD marker. I found myself more often than not, in skirmishes not really knowing where or what I was supposed to be doing, as CIS and Republic. May be due to no major environmental visuals to distinguish itself from phase 2, other than more open terrain. Could probably use more variety to help set each phase apart on the defending CIS side, at least in phase 3.

    Those are my thoughts for now, I'm sure I'll have more feedback later.
