One Change: Galactic Assault
Looking to try something new, so here it is. We receive tons of great feedback, thoughts and ideas from our community and this new ‘One Change’ series looks to take that one step further.
The goal here is to get your insight into some key topics of discussion. Usually these will be based around conversations we’re having ourselves within the team, so this is a great way for us to ensure we get even more community input.
As tempting as it might be to list everything you can, please keep your feedback to your most desired change.
With that said, let’s kick things off.
If you could make one change to Galactic Assault, what would it be?

Or era playlists.
He knew.
- Increase number of tickets (default is 100)
- Make objectives more fun like at Geonosis, so no boring securing points like the 1st, 2nd and 3rd phase on Jakku.
- No chokepoints or add more flank options. (Kamino is hard for attackers with limited flanking options.)
- Add weather effects during battle (blizzard storms on Hoth, sudden rainfall on Endor, ...)
- Do something against people camping at menu screen waiting for a hero.
- Increase player size from 40 to 64?
Sandstorms for Tatooine, and Jakku.
Rain for Endor, Yavin 4, Takodana, Kashyyyk, and Naboo.
Night (or sunset) variants of maps Starkiller Base, Yavin 4, and Takodana.
More variety in enforcers for light side, Wookie Warriors dont make sense on every map.
- More opencast maps for GA.
- New weapons and new enforcers.
I would also like to see something along the lines of the Death Star One campaign, switching between Starfighter and Galactic Assault, again with the newer physics. Getting R2 out of the Death Star was one of the highlights of BF 2015 and to relive it would be awesome.
Join me, and together we will rule the Galaxy!

I love Jakku! Each to their own I guess.

3. MAP SELECTION
(Era Specific playlists with limited, no cross-era heroes, along with a Heroes Unleashed playlist that rotates through all maps)
GA is the longest game mode amidst several very quick game modes. I play it for a longer game. Ivr played conquest in Battlefield ever since Battlefield 2 Modern Combat in 2005 because of the consistent 20-40 minute games. (60+ for the max ticket BF3 fans out there)
Having one long game mode that is predictably long allows you to get into the groove and enjoy the rough draft more in my opinion.
Private servers both addresses and solve many issues and concerns of this community.
Hero count, reinforcement count, hero type(cross/no-cross era), map selection/voting, map rotation(eras), vehicle count(s), BP costs, EoR MM on/off, etc, etc.
With proper governance/licensing, these and other ruleset variances and adjustments could all be fully vetted with private servers. Dice has provided this successfully with previous titles for many years now.
I haven’t promoted this since early summer but now, @F8RGE , you’ve asked openly, and directly.
Dice and EA have Star Wars gaming in hand. The products shouldn’t be below or even on par with the genres industry standards. It’s time to make Star Wars games that surpass them, setting new standards. Providing private servers is step one down that path.
If private servers off the table, then I vote for HU to be its own permanent mode.
