Battlefront 3

Prev134
I don't mind this game
But it has taken to long for most things
We need a fresh experience with new maps ,guns , class of troopers and generally a good system that updates regularly
I would rather pay for a new experience in game than wait for the drip feed

    The same old same
  • Played it for a year
    But enough is enough
I just hope they learned from this experience
  • If there is ever another Battlefront game you better pray to all the gods that Dice has absolutely nothing to do with it. They are like the Illegal Mafia of game developers. It would be hilarious if Dice announced another Battlefront...then they could (once again) claim that they're going to put their focus on making new Hoth maps for the next game and will put BF2 immediately to rest.....just like they did Battlefront15 which still needs care and further balancing. And we see how their "promises" went with this one.

Go back fix the bf15 issues, add all of bf2 maps but keep the gameplay and layout of bf15, especially for infantry, then add bf2’s hero gameplay mechanics. Add the stats back, the private matches, the companion app, and throw in conquest as a major mode.

It would be nice to know if they’re going to continue to work on this game or is it over after the winter season. A few skins or heroes here and there doesn’t count imo, if no new modes or maps then it’s done imo. Also winter is the end is there a bf3 even in the cards, or are we only getting the rpg?
  • They already messed up by making most of the first game a 60 dollar dlc addition...then they claimed they were right that wrong by have FREE DLC for the second entry...........and we see how insignificant that is in comparison (content wise). Plus the whole loot box thing.

So what would they even back pedal to with promises on BETTER this or that with the next game? They even lied to us about it being a live service, transparent communications etc..
  • We are definitely not getting a battlefront 3. There are two other Star Wars games being made by EAs studios.

Respawn and EA Vancouver. EA has the license for 10 years starting from 2013. 5 of those are gone.

2 more star wars Games coupled with Battlefield ever 2 years. Unless they want to end with Battlefront 3 but I doubt it.

    2015 Battlefront 1

    2016 Battlefield 1

    2017 Battlefront 2

    2018 battlefield V

    2019 Star Wars Fallen Order

    2020 Battlefield kumquat

    2021 Other star Wars Thingy.

    2022 Battlefield rutabaga

    2023?
    Youtube Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/TroopperFoFo/ .
Battlefront 2 , Battlefield and more.
  • I didn't realise Battlefield was in the starwars universe
    So should I play COD
    Coke ,Pepsi .
I would like a game with new and consistent maps and weapons updates
Plus not have neglected game modes called SA and Extraction
  • Nah, the only way I could see them making BF3 and scrapping this one is if Disney had no new movies after Episode IX, so they have time to develop the system.
You guys are gonna make me rich......
    Xbox G-tag
    XJO461
    That Specialist rework was disappointing.

We are getting conquest, and destroying capital ships in the new year. That can last another year or two when they add PT/OT/ST gameplay. Possibly new heroes and maps.
I'm not ready for buying another battlefront game.

From a business stand point it doesn’t make much sense to invest money into something that’s not making money. Maybe they’re buying time and using it for advertising idk.

Still, if we only get one map this game will be a graveyard this time next year imo, or after the last dlc drops. This game will lose much of its playerbase all but the diehards. We have no private matches or stats which helped in 15, and if we don’t get more maps and a new small mode or 2 a few skins and new heroes aren’t gonna last long.

For the life of me I can’t see why Starwars isn’t more popular amoung gamers, especially younger gamers, this game offers a ton of content compared to many other top games like bo4 and even battlefield 5 imo. This is only my opinion of course.

Actually Battlfield is relevant because DICE develop the game, the same developers of Battlefront series.

    So based on DICE games

    2013 Battlefield 4
    2015 Battlefield Hardline (Spring)
    2015 Battlefront (Fall)
    2016 Battlefield 1
    2017 Battlefront 2
    2018 Battlefield V
    2019

Based on past run of form you assume Battelfront 3 will arrive fall 2019.

Let's be honest the current DLC released for 2 has been awful, with 2 maps in a full year. They may have promised content but they failed to deliver it, if anything that is only going to get worse the older the game gets. They lost alot of sales and ground from day 1 with a poor progression system and loot crates. They need to start fresh, release a new game and deliver on the promises this time round day 1. Have a set clear roadmap for the first 6 month after release with content released monthly. They are missing so many heroes, maps and content they really would be better bringing a fresh package with it all included.

Maybe worth noting Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is being developed by Respawn Entertainment. Not DICE. They are developers of Titanfall, so that game other than being a Star Wars franchise title releasing in Fall 2019 will not affect Battlefront, or should not.

Also makes sense releasing a Star Wars game with relevant Episode 9 content with or around the film release date (Dec 2019). We know Jedi Fallen Order takes place before the sequel trilogy. Its basically free marketing and easy DLC adding Episode 9 content around the film release date. Similar to Last Jedi content in Battlefront 2.

If I was a betting man, my money would be on Battlefront 3, with all the requested features fall 2019. Why waste time flogging a dead horse (Battlefront 2) when you get no return and less people play it everyday as it ages and has already become stale.

Agreed, from a business standpoint this game doesn’t have much left to offer imo. The die hards are really the only ones left that care about bf2 imo. Gaming today is all about what hot now, what’s popular today, what’s s1mple or scump playing , what the you tubers say and/or what’s esports, and battlefront probably isn’t in that conversation as sad as that is. That’s my opinion anyway.
  • Well even if BF3 is announced, I’m not getting it after this dilemma.
  • Surely they will learn from mistakes improve mechanics add more choice etc and if done right will have a player base.

Better than the game we are left with which lets be honest is effectively half a game when you compare the amount of maps/modes and characters 2015 BF had using the OG trilogy era only. This has 3 eras to use and has similar amount of content.

Sorry but it's not good enough. I understand people including myself have invested time in game, but what you getting out of it now? We have nothing left to unlock and why would a developer add more content beyond what is announced when they get nowt for it. Surely any additional content will be done with little to no resources.

Well even if BF3 is announced, I’m not getting it after this dilemma.

If I said that it would likely be an empty threat but if it’s lacking in content I would not and just pressure dice somehow to keep going with bf2. But I believe a lot of people fee the same way as you so I think online would be a ghost town.
I’m looking to resonate a game a lot but will miss the online component. Bf17 has a great single player imo but the online stuff has kept me coming back.

I wonder if respawn does well with single player and multiplayer not finding a way to be monetized if multiplayer in sw will die off? I imagine it’s a headache for EA and dice right now given how bad they botched this one.
  • I doubt it will happen before the next gen consoles arrive
  • I would prefer Battlefront 3 being launched in 2024 or later. Take the appropriate amount of time to launch a completed game. Imagine this:

Heroes: Luke, Obi Wan, Yoda, Han, Leia, Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, Rey, Poe, Finn, Jyn Erso, Chewie, Baze Malbus, Chirutt, Lando, Captain Rex

Villians: Maul, Grievous, Palpatine, Bossk, Dengar, Vader (DS Anakin skin), Boba Fett, Ventress, Phasma, Kylo Ren, Krennic, Greedo, Dooku, Cad Bane

Maps: BF2015; BF2; a ton of additional maps (Mustafar, Jedha, etc, just to get started)

Game modes: Heroes Unleashed; HvV 2015 version; Hero Blast; Conquest; Walker/Galactic Assault; Hero Hunt; Cargo 2015; Starfighter Assault (INCLUDING TRENCH RUN AND SCARIFF ATMOSPHERE); Hunt Modes (Ewok Hunt expanded); Extraction

Private customizable servers. Choose map rotation, game mode rotation, available heroes, era, weapons, star cards, etc. Make the game the way you want it and invite players to join, infill with AI, or open to general public.

An era-accurate version of each mode

Do Solo content properly. More maps for more modes, heroes and Villians from the movie.

Every known skin available for the characters available for purchase or in-game credits. Most importantly! Chewie with a talking C-3PO on his back; Maul with cybernetic legs; damaged Vader; a ton of Luke skins!

Launch it as a completed game. Make the skins, emotes and victory poses plentiful and EXPENSIVE if using real money. You can grind your customization in game or invest in the game. This will continue to give the game revenue and allow Devs to focus on bugs and balancing issues.

I'm sure I missed content that many of you want and I don't see why that can't be added either!

  • Battlefront 3 should be in 2020 or 2021 give dice the years to fix this game and to have a team work on Battlefront 3
  • Go play Fortnite or Overwatch.
Or, better yet, ask either to skin their game with Star Wars. Then we'll have a playable game.
    It's Saturday, 11:30am-12:00pm in Japan:
    BLAST: EMPTY ROOM
    EXTRACTION: EMPTY ROOM
    STRIKE: EMPTY ROOM
    SA: EMPTY ROOM
    EWOK HUNT: EMPTY ROOM (duh)
If you see this, it means I haven't found a game in well over 30 minutes.
    PLAYERS NEEDED: ANY!

Wow. I sympathize with you. If you were in the US, there would be full lobbies for nearly all of them. Wish (for your sake) that there were more players in other countries.
Add more Extraction and SA maps please!

What the ROADMAP should look like for 2019/2020:
    “Season” 4: Clone Wars Revival
    “Season” 5: Episode IX
    “Season” 6: Rogue One

  • So then a new new studio could work on a game but not before. So give it two years for a good game one for a rushed game. We will likely get rushed with promises of improvements and dlc.

This game is so casual it turns many off. For infantry play, I go to Battlefield1, for melee combat FH, because they each do it better.

The younger ones are too heavily involved in the dances from Fortnite. None of my friends' kids have liked this game, they all prefer the 2015 game. But they know every fortnite dance, even though they don't like the actual game play.

  • why BF3 ? to be even worst than this ? They stopped care about their games , DICE is like every other **** company. Just want money . Look at the fail BF V was, look at this BF2 game. Since 2015 DICE stopped make good games

This has so much potential. If they provided seasons in the same way that cod does there would be no need for bf3 anytime soon. Four dlc updates in the first year, each with at least one new map for each game mode, new skins and two new heros. If dice/ea had done that this would've been the definitive Star Wars experience for this generation on consoles.

That’s exactly what they did with the 1st game and it’s far superior to this one. This game isn’t special nor doesn’t it deserve special treatment, it’s business. So yeah I’m all for a bf3, the sooner the better imo and hopefully they get back to a bf15 type game and play mechanic. Casuals will still have this game or can play LEGO.

I do understand where your coming from though because I felt the same way when they abandoned bf15. Also to many people have left this game and imo they’re not getting them back without a new title.

If they left this game, it’s for reasons that will keep them away if a Battlefront 3 is released.

EA and DICE need to save face. They do that by taking the time to fix this game and make it worthy of the IP, not by abandoning ship AGAIN and trying with a new game AGAIN.

The pattern would continue, and Battlefront 3 would have the same problems the last two have had. The pattern stops when they decide to do a game right, and they can do that with this one.

Saving face sounds good and they should try and win back frustrated fans, but I’m betting after the winter dlc the most we get is a few additional skins. I also don’t believe in any way, shape, or form, skins and bling will solve any problems of help longevity of this game.

Imo it’s clear they don’t care what we ask for anyway, if so we would have new modes like Cargo, more skins, more freedom to choose and customize, better matchmaking, private matches and so on. Imo there’s no reason to resurrect a sunken ship when you can build a new one.

Oh it is but everything EA makes will forever be compared to the original series in 2005 which has a long standing reputation of being the "best." Honestly, the amount of heroes in the predecessors is a moot point as most of the jedi played literally the same; for EA to really rival it they just need to cover skins, weapons and maps as much as they can. SWBF15 has plenty of content they could port over

At one point new heroes will become niche and repetitive, should that be all you're building your future on.

I agree as well as disagree. I spend some time thinking about all they could do to make this game into a success in every aspect and the only two viable options would be: making some huge annoucement coupled with a trailer to show off some surge of content or releasing the third game.

However I think both are unlikely to make them money because of their standing reputation due to the loot box scandal. I have many friends who have never played the game and still to this day think microtransactions are apart of the game despite it being removed before launch.
