Trooper and Hero Melee is still broken.

Just a reminder for the devs that Trooper melee and Blaster hero melee is broken. This makes Specialist hilariously broken, as it allows him to oneshot every Infantry class, and two tap Enforcers.
This also applies to Hero melee, as I killed a Yoda as Boba with three or four flame bursts from behind. This needs to be fixed as it makes GA an even more dangerous place for heroes, since if a Specialist is able to sneak up on you, say goodbye to 250 health. Any sorta date on when this will be fixed?

    Tagging , since I recall at least on mod/dev not even being aware their was a Strike/Blast/Extraction lobby issue, despite us having complaining about it for ages.

    So, specialist melee. They're landing two strikes in the time it takes to land one, their hitboxes are freaking insane and they're taking advantage of it, absolutely gutting the fun out of small game lobbies.

    Here are a couple of videos illustrating the problem, just from yesterday.

    In the first video, you can clearly see myself as a full health DEATH TROOPER get out meleed by a single specialist, despite me getting the drop on him. Two of my teammates join in to help and the SINGLE SPECIALIST takes all three of us down with melee, WHILE we're wailing on him.


    In this second video, you can see the specialist phase through the first player to land a OHK melee on my full health heavy AND my teammate, with one melee attack, then continue to run through like we were never even there.

  • The other night my jaw dropped open when as 100% health I saw a specialist bubbled coming to a hallway in Extraction...in their way was a teammate heavy shield out tl50 blazing away I.was 2 yards or so behind and was OHK melee killed by specialist on the screen....lag at play for sure but specialist was alive 80% health Lol reminded me of my scatter gun OHK 'kill ' of three bubble boys who were perfectly aligned behind each other but spread out over 5or so yards in BF15 drop zone at a pod ....they all died courtesy of algorithm that did not assume damage drop off as the scatter went through bubbles and bodies Lol boy were they pizzed!

  • Yeah, this is a problem with every class and Hero, except Lightsabers. They tick twice, allowing one shot capabilities. Needs to be fixed, even if you have to give Grievs double damage back.

  • I dont think specialist is broken. You deal double the damage from behind and you can easily take out the shield. Besides stinger pistol you can fist fight lightsaber heroes and do significant damage. And as for boba i think he does 100 something damage per melee plus extra from behind if im not mistaken

It is extremely fun when you are the Specialist running around and meleeing entire teams, but it is extremely annoying when you are on the receiving end. You can kiss your Enforcer goodbye if you get flanked and snuck up on by a Specialist.

  • The melee bug means that I am seeing more Specialists running around killing people with melee (while under their bubble shields) and ignoring the objective. Being the Specialist running around is fun, but being on the receiving end is no fun at all. I had an Extraction match degrade into Specialists running around meleeing each other becuase players were tired of being OHK by the Specialist melee.
    Add more Extraction and Hunt maps please!

    If a specialist is running towards you with bubble up rather than away, it's obvious what they're trying to do.

    Didn't see a single attempt to roll in either one of those videos so even with the bug it's clearly operator error.

    Especially trying to box with the class that we know has a 250 damage melee right now. Really?

    Frankly, all other conditions being normal, if a player doesn't have the situational awareness to keep their Enforcer/Hero from getting snuck up on at low health (<250), or can't react fast enough to not be hit multiple times, they don't deserve to keep that unit.

    You are mistaken... Unfortunately, all the blaster-wielders do not (or not supposed to) deal extra melee from behind, at least if the game was 'working as intended'.

    But, blaster-wielder melee is broken, and it's extremely devastating taking 200 damage per hit by Boba Fett to any hero.

    That's...that's...already the case. You can deal multiple damage with saber heroes when performing jumping strikes.

    That's...that's...already the case. You can deal multiple damage with saber heroes when performing jumping strikes.

    True, but jump attacking doesn't just magically lunge at an enemy from a distance as opposing to striking whilst on the ground. It is nearly useless to do that on moving targets, more so if you're not exactly on top of them, and on top of increased stamina drain for jump attacking.

    It would be highly beneficial for Rey and Darth Vader especially (because I'm in belief that they have the greatest chances of staggering players without them having to move than other lightsaber-wielders), and of course Darth Maul and General Grievous (hey and why not all of the lightsaber-wielders).

    EDIT - And to be fair, 95% of the players I go up against don't start with a jump attack. It'd be a different experience overall if they were able to deal double damage for any lightsaber strike.

  • I went and tested the specialist melee and was able to kill a Wookiee warrior in a few seconds. I think when the specialists go to melee they spam the button and the force of the attack is doubled.

    The damage is broken, I’ve played it, The melee is doubled, as I’m able to simply one tap Heavies from the FRONT. Boba does 200 damage with rapid fire, easily out damaging most other heroes. It needs fixing, even if I love the bug.

  • In addition, Palpatine does 180 damage with his Force Lightning melee, and because that's unblockable and broken as well, he has yet another effective way of destroying all Jedi who try to defend against him.

    Not sure if you’re referring to my vids or not due to thread merge, but in the first one we had one ticket left, that specialist HAD to die even if it cost me my last life. Regardless, you can clearly see me melee him FOUR times, so evidently not everyone is doing double damage as some people are claiming.

    Second vid has THREE people shooting his shield up close, call me crazy but not expecting three people to get suddenly one hit doesn’t actually seem like user error so much as buggy game mechanics. Yes I could have rolled behind him and potentially gotten a kill, but it’s beside the point. My complaint isn’t that the shield/melee combo is unbeatable, just that it’s unbalanced and unfun. Palpatine can be killed too, but if you’re a saber hero it’s TREMENDOUSLY unfun to attempt.

    I wasn’t being snuck up on, I was the one sneaking up. When I was on the receiving end, I saw them coming up the stairs (bubbled up), and they melee killed me before I could completely destroy their shield or melee them myself.

    Trooper & Hero melee attacks (except lightsaber-wielders) had been broken since the Geonosis update, to where they deal double or triple melee damage, with only ONE hit or animation for it across the entire game.

    In Palpatine's case, his melee very often does 180 damage (instead of 90) to both the front and rear of an enemy when I was testing for the heroes onto my "Heroes & Villains: Informational Thread (READ DESC)". Of course it's unblockable, so it's extremely devastating to all Jedi right now. Palpatine has yet another way that owns.

    Tried jumping with Kenobi to avoid a bubble boy's melee and to create distance. The melee still triggered at the peak of my jump.

    On top of that, the melee/Kenobi is so bugged that if you melee Obi-Wan during defensive rush, it stops the ability and prevents Kenobi from attacking or blocking until the ability timer runs out or is cancelled.

    Of course your buffed up gun does a lot more DPS wise, so I'd ask why you're punching at the melee only bubble boi when you could shoot at no risk to yourself and tank 3 hits even with the bug (assuming full health + health boost active)

    In addition, Palpatine does 180 damage with his Force Lightning melee, and because that's unblockable and broken as well, he has yet another effective way of destroying all Jedi who try to defend against him.

    Umm I thought it only dealed about 90 damage + breaking lightsaber blocks which in my opinion is a good thing as lightsaber heroes can drain him out of stamina. Besides it's not use by all players.

    Trooper & Hero melee attacks (except lightsaber-wielders) had been broken since the Geonosis update, to where they deal double or triple melee damage, with only ONE hit or animation for it across the entire game.

    In Palpatine's case, his melee very often does 180 damage (instead of 90) to both the front and rear of an enemy when I was testing for the heroes onto my "Heroes & Villains: Informational Thread (READ DESC)". Of course it's unblockable, so it's extremely devastating to all Jedi right now. Palpatine has yet another way that owns.

    Yeah, Palps had a bug when using melee against block, it apparently deals more damage.
