Melee is insane

How is it that the Melee takes 2-3 hits to kill someone but a blaster takes a half dozen?
I don't get into the OP stuff but Melee is off the charts OP.

  • you do realize that melee has to get close while blaster can shoot across the map. you can use bombs, roll back or punch if they get close (infatry), in HvV you can shoot while you are being hit, and you can knock your opponent down in addition to the previews 3. whats OP is how easy blasters can kill anyone, including heroes

  • Melee is kind of crazy for trooper combat, but ranger heroes such as emperor palpatine would not stand a chance against blocking heroes if melee was not a thing due to the fact that melee strikes [excluding lightsaber heroes] break block.

  • you do have a good point. i don't remember in which conversation i address that issue. it would need more tweaks but i think that if life drain was added to his aura ability that would help offset that weakness along with timed blocks forcing a dodge, but i do admit that would still leave him exposed. i hope adding life drain would help him survive longer since he is exposed to laser and saber and most of the time he is running away. adding this ability would make him a beast against groups but have a more skilled play style.

    ps i would like to see that for the sith specially him since he was a powerful force user

    lol, my point is blaster vs blaster is fine but blaster vs saber is more conditional. you have to sneak around or lose a good chunk of your life. i wouldn't mind life reduction for heroes if they added an auto reflect causing a less likely chance to get hit with lasers. i don't like the tank like heroes that can get hit with grenades and not even flinch but thats probably just me.

    ps getting shot in back would not trigger the auto deflect and a bonus to the dmg would be good

    Emperor Palpatine is a beast when put to use by a tactical genius/dodge master. One time I got 34 kills in a GA match with him on Naboo. [he is most likely the best hero for phases 2 and 3 on Naboo]

  • true but i feel that palpatine runs away too much. actually i posted some ideas on the forum "Things that will make the game better and alot more fun". there are 2 parts, if you could check what i posted under jedi/sith and let me know what you think. i'm updating it as i come up with things

    i agree with what you are saying but i can't help and think that the sith, specially palpatine needs to have more of a presence. he doesn't need to be buffed but his play style is too much cat and mouse (hes the mouse) which is not completely a bad thing but i would like him to be able to choose and not be the focus.

    ps i haven't come up with a good idea on how EA can change that for palpatine.

    The problem isn't even with heros. Troopers you can unload into another trooper and he runs up and punches you 1-2 times for the kill.

    true i forgot about this issue, and you can't block it even with a saber which is dumb.

    How much damage does Melee do? It seems when blaster heroes hit me they take a lot of health off

    Because blasting someone to death with a blaster is cleaner and a lot less bloody than with slug weapons or punching someone’s face until it stops resembling a face kind of dying you KNOW?

    Keep in mind I’m not just punching you, I’m punching you with my weapon which in this case works like a club


    A Blaster works by Searing a hunk of your flesh away whilst cauterizing the wound so it doesn’t bleed as much, (as much as a seared flesh with a hunk missing that is) whereas BEING clubbed to death Generally is quicker if it’s a trained Soldier smacking your face or spine with a metal Tube

    So what you're saying is that with the technology that the Empire has they can't create a ranged weapon that's more effective than a pole.

    Haven't you ever seen Stormtroopers shoot in the movies? Come on, it's realism. :D
  • Melee would be useless if it did less damage than it does, really all you have to do is dodge back and you should have enough space to start shooting. The guns doing hardly any damage problem is a problem with all shooter games. Realistically two shots to the torso would have you dead with any gun/blaster but that would be no fun.

    agree, it fine as is, but i would like saber heroes to be able to block it
