From what I hear from inside sources

DICE and Bioware are getting the hatchet by EA due to the failed releases.

DICE Vancouver, Edmonton, Sweden and Russia were announced to have their staffing cut back by half, but today, it's been announced, LA is also getting chopped. DICE will effectively be nerfed. That's what happens when you fail then lie to cover your tush.

Bioware is meeting the same fate.

Also, they had any bonus they may receive, be chopped in half. Only senior developers may keep their jobs but will be with another developer that EA owns.

I do have a video to post, if you'd all like?

    If true, it's well deserved.
Still would like to see the sources though.

Here is todays video about the subject.

About a month ago I read several articles online and posted them here. Google Dice losing jobs and the first bit I mentioned should turn up. I have a new tablet so I no longer have the links for those on hand.

You know what that means for the game? No more support beyond the end of summer unless another developer takes over. So the next 2 updates may be the last.

This is why only EA staff have posted here recently and the mods are scarcely here.

Does anyone else play Anthem currently? I see a lot of similarities in mistakes between the two games even though they’re different genres and studios. It’s mindblowing.

Getting upgrades for units your not playing, Freeplay “events” that are half baked, small amount of cosmetics (which is where they’re supposed to make money), glaring glitches the playerbase notices immediately like it wasn’t even play tested. Those are the ones I can name off quick. There’s a saying of “summon the loot” but I’m in the camp of “summon the content”. I get enough legendaries in GM3 but for a looter shooter without any PvP there really isn’t all that much to do at the moment.

Sad thing is like BF 2 it has great bones on it but it just feels half baked. It is a fun game to play though if you don’t mind the bad stuff since there is no PvP.

When it released, I saw like 20 people playing it on my friends list. Today, seeing even one of my friends playing Anthem is rare :joy:

  • A meritocracy? In Star Wars? Whatever next?!

I do feel for those who lose jobs over the fiasco that is BF2; they’re real people with dependants etc. It’s a shame that even if this game becomes the phenomenon that is being claimed by the latest player-numbers-same-as-launch ‘data’, there will always be that bitter taste for those of us who’ve been on board the ride since launch.

So sad. I do enjoy it for what it is. I can log on and knock out some Freeplay, get a legendary or two and log off. Hopefully it’ll have a decent amount of stuff to do in a few months although I’m not holding my breath since I see similarities between both of these games. There was good long article that came out about the development of the game recently. Quite eye opening.

It sounds like the issues are over Battlefield and Anthem

I'd be careful about sharing this info, one thing leads to another and some shady guys are breaking your legs out behind the donut shop.

God, I could go for some donuts right now; just got over stomach flu.
If you see this, it means I haven't found a game in well over 30 minutes.

  • Mostly rumours...unconfirmed rumours. Either way, I won't shed a tear for any of them. You either do good games, sell to the Devil, or just go out of business, so others can try.

To be completely honest, Bioware lost on its own hand. They had full control over SWTOR, from concept all the way to launch. The game failed because Bioware, plain and simple.

I'll go ahead and close this down before we truly jump down a rabbit hole or something, however just a gentle reminder that it's usually not wise to believe everything that you may read or see on the internet, unless it's from a reputable/official source.
