


Community Transmission — Heroes vs Villains Changes

One of the most iconic parts of Star Wars™ comes from when our noble heroes face off against their sinister foes. Obi-Wan Kenobi versus General Grievous, Luke Skywalker confronting Darth Vader, or Rey against Kylo Ren.
These moments have captured us since the very first film and is a part of Battlefront™ II, particularly in Heroes vs Villains.

You’ve all given us a lot of feedback about HvV and with it, we’re making some changes to the mode.
With this month’s update, we’re completely reworking the targeting system in Heroes vs Villains. Now, defeating an enemy hero will add a point to your team’s elimination score, regardless of which one you defeat.
With these new mechanics, the mode will no longer be a first to 10 target eliminations. Instead, the first team to reach 25 eliminations will be the victors of the match.
We will also update the achievement for eliminations to reflect this change. It will now unlock upon eliminating 50 enemies in HvV rather than be tied to target eliminations.
Thanks for the feedback on this one! This is one of the many changes we’ve made (and will continue to make) to the game that have been based directly on what players are asking for and talking about. Once this update goes live, let us know what you think!

With your constant feedback, we plan to continue evolving the Heroes and Villains game modes as well as the iconic characters themselves, including another change that will be seen in this month’s update. We’re adding more versatility to Boba Fett’s jetpack this month, including in-air recoveries! More details on this will be shared in this month’s release notes.

Just wondering, as some hvv maps are huge, (like geonosis), I'm wondering if the player count in a hvv map can increase? I'm guessing because 25 is probably the limit because there might be a lot of running around on some maps. Increasing the player count may help this matter. I know we haven't played it yet but even with the target system there can be a lot of running around and now that we don't know where the players are, it may be even worse, although I'm guessing the mode is more fun now.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to trying out the changes in that mode.
I must be honest. I have no gratitude or appreciation for this choice. Not this time. Why couldn’t y’all just make it Cargo, or Extraction, or zone control.... Anything else but the kindergarten ruleset?
Yes, 25 is too low but it won’t matter. We’ll be lucky to finish a match with a full lobby as is. Raising the ticket count will guarantee we won’t.
And it should be 6v6. How can y’all not anticipate some of these things a little better?
4v4 TDM, with these characters, maps, and mechanics, will be a miserable experience.

Couldn't you keep classic HVV and just name the new game mode Hero Blast? Gonna miss the target system to be honest.

Just start at 50 and work up from there!
It doesn't take a crystal ball to figure out how things work here. If you've followed the trajectory of this game since the beginning, you know that it always takes the path of least resistance.
I still say that DICE owes us a poll, linked to a tile in-game, to direct people to the forum, so the community as a whole have a chance to weigh in. Otherwise, get rid of a dead weight mode like Hero Showdown or Hero Starfighters, and give us classic Heroes Vs Villains AND Hero Blast. Then make whatever fixes you want to the target system to improve it.
Also, how are you changing the spawn mechanics @EA_Charlemagne ? Let's hear some details on this exciting brand new mode.
What happened to DICE's statement to the community that this mode would first be a trial event?

Find me in HvV, pushing people off of stuff and watching them fall, like a cat.
1. Fix Split screen mode bugs
2. Fix bugs
3. Bigger play area for Duel mode
4. More love for Starfighter modes
5. First Person only mode
I guessed it would be 20. It's less horrible then that. Anyway, HvV is dead, this mode will be boring as hell, they'll change the number of eliminations needed every 2 patches, so it'll be a constant changing mess. The last system allowed for quick matches, and epic matches. Now they'll all sit in a narrower window, not anywhere fast, nor anywhere long old HvV matches could last.
There must be a natural, in sync way for matches to be longer so they can be more epic. Failing that makes the mode bland and boring. Premades will wreak havoc even easier. I don't think this wise considering the public that plays this mode.
Well, they'll still exist.
But visit the Rogue Bros Channel, there we document many BUGs and possible workarounds for them. There's also gameplay and other videos related to EA's Star Wars Battlefront (I & II)
That would involve the players and Dice doesn't care about us. They made Hero showdown and starfighter without any player interaction at all. Total contempt.
The new mode is going to lower the server cost, because man .... this mode is going to suck.
What were the average num of kills for win/los teams so far?
- Please give us Qui-Gon Jinn w/ Cad Bane to even both sides
- Please give us General Anakin
- If possible, please bring Ahsoka & Jango Fett to the game

(side note, before you attack me, I am not writing this because I wouldn't do well, I am a very good Fett player and could excel in a game mode like this, I just think it will take the fun out of it. To the contrary when I started playing HvV I thought it would be great to have a game mode like this, but why cant we have both?)
Also, I’m curious the average length of the matches they are getting in their play tests
