Infantry only game mode
HvV is dead? Uh no. I play it daily
No thats an awful idea
That would equal bout 6.25 kills each if I'm being generous. 100 is perfect bcuz it gives us all a chance to play &have fun
So you have not tested a thing, again.
Pure TDM means the mode is ruined. Some characters wont be played because their survavility due to HORRIBLE RESPAWNS, less health and poor regen is near to ZERO. They cant jump, or fly, or leap, or run as fast as jedis/siths.
Only a FOOL would play Leia or Han in this scenario.
So finally you ruined a mode that was strategic and fun for a bunch of kids who wanted their saber duels.
Matches will last about 2 minutes.

@EA_Charlemagne
Sorry mate:
You finally got what you wanted: ruin the mode. Thank you.
LOL I doubt they realize that. It will be a respawn fest.
OMG what a mess of a change.
wake up, stop dreaming. Where do you come from? Dagobah??
Why not just increase it now before it goes live. Make it like team slayer in halo where it was first team to 50 kills.
Remember the most powerful walk the line between rage and serenity.
and more maps for HvV!
25 kills will take forever in TDM with all the camping and conservative gameplay. It might literally take your team an hour for that. There is no objective to focus the action so this will be a bunch of aimless nothingness.
This is a huge mistake driven by bad community suggestions. Good job guys, you just traded down.

I'm just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.
I think you are opening up a huge can of negative worms by deleting the current HvV mode and implementing this one. This new mode is going to flesh out design flaws of weak heroes like the plague which will lead to way more tweaks to heroes down the road that are unnecessary which will distract from releasing engaging content to keep this title alive. Right now in HvV we can play pretty much choose any hero (whether for character or playstyle) and have some contribution to the team goal (community in gaming). [Heroes that I see that are less active-effective right now in HvV are Leia, Yoda (make his buff do 200 to heroes and 100 to soldiers and give him 3 dodges), Chewie, Finn and Phasma]
1. To make this new mode work better, consider allowing team mate spawns. Maybe tweak the settings IE longer timers, or maybe they spawn 30m away from member, maybe they spawn on team member location but it takes 5 seconds to appear. Something that can keep team dynamics high, but curb abuse. Also you will need to turn some sort of radar on, even if it is the Hero Showdown Style and yes like many before me mention - try 25 and look to go to 50 (especially if radar is on).
2. Consider having the option to play both modes. I did read that this new mode was intended to be a trial first from official channels. HvV and Heroes Blast. If HvV was such a nag for you guys to delete it, then fix it by implementing one or more of the following: 1) tightening the maps 2) Allow team mate spawn 3) tweak target prioritization to saber users more often 4) Slow the targets speed to regular solider run speed after 1 minute of being the target.
3. Consider an alternate mode where it is a round based system much like 2015 HvV. Everyone has been asking for that more it seemed and instead you do this blast mode and delete a mode people still enjoy. Where are the votes being cast? I want to contribute. Best 2/3 and call it Hero Strike.
I played since beta, have all soldiers level 70, and have like all but 2 heroes at 40.
This guy is using his head. I like it!
It would've been nice if HvV was kept as is, and Hero Blast was implemented so we have both and everyone is happy.
25 kills to win does seem pretty low. We'll see how it plays out, but I think the matches will end up finishing fairly quickly and DICE will have to increase the kill limit.
Can't wait to see how Boba's adjustments work. The mid-air recovery sounds epic, but I'm really hoping he'll FINALLY be able to zoom. That, and all blaster wielding Heroes would FINALLY have the ability to perform both crouch and combat roll/dodge in all three portions of the game - Campaign, Multiplayer and Arcade.
@EA_Charlemagne
As a blaster hero I often rack up the most kills, but what I really enjoy is playing a Saber hero and defending our target.
I love seeing when a team starts to work together, it’s awesome. I wonder what will happen now.. every man for himself maybe .
Less incentive to group up? For me that was part of the fun. I will miss it. I’m playing it now still, before its gone.
I think that for 25 kills... with 4 players that work together this could be over inside 5 mins every-time...
People will try harder to stay alive in this mode because every death counts against your team. 25 kills could potentially lead to endless matches.
These aren’t troopers that get one shot killed by a grenade or two shot to the head. Heroes will be a tough out and there will be a lot of running to regroup if things don’t look good.
The target system focused action to one or two spots and took away the penalty of death for all but two players. So it was more aggressive and kills came faster.
I tried to warn the community of this but I have failed in my effort to convince DICE not to trade down. This is a trade down. We really want both options to be available so everyone gets what they want and let the play numbers judge their fate.
What will runners regret?
A chunk of this playerbase could care less if they win or lose.
Pirate of the Knights of Gareth
Oh yeah I just realized.....there's. No way for us to know where the other team is really lol
Ha. As if. Yes that instant slice through air that one-hit kills everyone was so much better.
Many may think it won’t matter, but they will see.
Get ready boys and girls.
On the TDM watch the complaints come pouring in when pre-mades batter randoms into quitting and then no mode.
One final word on not having 2 different modes and removing one - DISGUSTING.
Read: It will be dead because of this update. Sorry if it seemed confusing. I know it isn't dead, it has never been, after Galactic Assault it's the easiest mode to find a lobby to play in.
But when the mode gets updated, it'll die. The hype will make it show signs of successfulness at first, until people realise it's boring as hell, and a very bland mode. Solved issues will come back, old issues will get more annoying, and new issues will arise. But without that capability of making interesting epic matches like the old system allowed, people will tire of the mode.
Just as people tired of Extraction, because it has only 2 maps.
One thing that will turn upside down is the way unbalanced teams fare against each other: With the target system, a 1v4 would end really fast, as that 1 would always be target, and everytime he died, a point would be lost. Now the opposite will happen, as with only 1 enemy, getting an amount of kills will become slower, making unbalanced matches painfully longer.
If the game could replenish the vacant slots quickly, that would be better for rebalancing the game. But as the game fails that since launch, the remaining people on unbalanced teams will just quit out of frustration. The number of games ending prematurely because one entire team left will increase a lot. So Quitters will be a worse issue overall with this new mode, unless playing in a very busy server/time of day
Well, they'll still exist.
But visit the Rogue Bros Channel, there we document many BUGs and possible workarounds for them. There's also gameplay and other videos related to EA's Star Wars Battlefront (I & II)
Forum posts are not an accurate reflection of the community of players as a whole and the posts in favor of Hero Blast were skewed early on because nobody thought you would REPLACE an objective based system with something so bland and boring.
You are now starting hear from people that realize this was always a bad idea cooked up by incomplete thinkers that just like to complain whenever possible. Was the target system flawless, absolutely not. But it was fixable even if all they did was take Boba away as a target option it would have remedied 80% of the complaints. Hero Blast only fixes target runners and creates a whole other set of problems.
1) Have grown tired of the match for whatever reason and decided to end the match for everyone
2) Are friends with someone on the other team and just keep feeding themselves or jumping off ledges to give the other team the victory
3) Stand there using all their emotes, not paying attention to people from the other team closing in
4) Stand there slashing/shooting at their feet
5) Running around in small circles, usually just waiting for the other team to show up
(AKA 'That guy')
Those things happen to me, either one or more, literally every other match every day. If it has happened to you then you understand the pain. If you haven't had that happen to you, guess what, this is what happens unfortunately to a lot of people. If you've had this happen to you and you still think the rework is a mistake ; Then you are a part of the problem.
The dev team has already come out and said that they don't like doing the annual-list of what's coming to the game and only will do 3-months - so they can adapt as needed.
Adapt as needed, as in, if things go haywire we can revert/fix things. So just let this rework happen, deal with it for a bit and either
A) Enjoy it
C) Play another game
If the community at large finds the rework was a massively mistake it'll get changed again or changed back to the original. It's fine. If the community at large likes the rework it'll stay. You folks are acting like SWBF2 Devs broke into your home and shot the dog.
A decent post... But it has nothing to do with the ruleset change.
“That guy”, is a “That guy” problem, not a ruleset problem. “That guy” will still be playing TDM and will still be “That guy” doing “That guy” stuff. TDM won’t change “That guy” and his toxic “That guy” behavior in the slightest.
It has everything to do with the ruleset change. Instead of 'That guy' just throwing away the match and screwing over the entire team, their death is less important.
Yeah but that’ll be irrelevant to toxic players like “That guy”. They’re going to find new ways to be shmucks and it won’t matter what the rules are.
You cannot govern poor gamesmanship with a ruleset.
I've been saying that since last year when certain folks started spamming the forum with threads complaining about the target system. That, and that they should consider killswitching Boba, to solve 90% of the runner problem. Naturally, nobody listened.

Are you high, bruh?
Before, "That guy" could only throw the match when he was target, now he can bring it crashing to an end inside of 2 minutes of continuous suiciding.
People are imagining TDM will be all kittens and unicorns. I wish I didn't have to keep saying "I told you so", but I already see it coming.

No one ever said anything about govern. I'm saying it'll have less of an impact on the match itself.
If at the end of the day you can't agree with that then not only have you never experienced the problem of toxic players in HvV but you can't seem to tell that there will be any difference at all and I guess you'll just never play the game mode and the loss is yours and no one else's. Enjoy your day.
How am I high when you clearly can't tell the difference between the rework changes and I guess you'll just never play the game mode again. Have a good day.
