"Fun" isn't exactly the word I'd use to describe Maul. Sitting on a cactus is more fun than dealing with that character.
Good thing the stinger pistol exists.
  • I’ll just touch on this mode for a bit.

First off I’m a diehard infantry guy, I love competitive gameplay/modes like dz and cargo and still want more skill based infantry/weapons added. Competitive type gameplay and tournaments give me that intensity that makes me wanna keep playing and bf15 gave me that. I always felt that was missing from bf2 other than this mode.

Now on to HU, this is one of the few if not the only modes in this game that has that intensity imo. People just play to win for the most part and not so much for killstreaks imo. One of, if not the biggest things HU does is bring a balance most other modes in bf2, short of an infantry only, just doesn’t have.

This in turn leads to the intense gameplay imo. So if you like the intensity of HU you get an idea of why I personally like competitive gameplay. This balance also makes infantry playing more fun imo, heroes aren’t focused on infantry they’re to busy with enemy heroes. It’s a fun intense mode that gives the entire playerbase a chance to play as heroes and would be a good addition in the hero playlist imo.

Again, imo, and I’m no where near a herolord, but HU is the only large mode in bf2 that compares or has that intense fun feel of a WA/Supremacy from bf15. Add this mode combined with a trooper/infantry only big mode and this game is back on track imo. Something for both camps, just don’t forget about private matches and cargo/dz.

There's nothing intense about it for me, just annoyance

The Stinger Pistol was on cool-down mode nearly the whole weekend. I cannot adequately describe the enjoyment of watching these so-called "heroes" turn and bravely run for cover as their life slowly drains from their bodies.

The Stinger Pistol had a brief break when AT-STs or other vehicles were available to hunt down the heroic Han and Leia sitting bravely back behind all the turrets and cover of Crait and Hoth.

I care not to see whether our team wins or loses on HU weekends; only to see those teen-boys' egos suffer. As a trooper, nothing pleases me more.
  • lol Yeah I hardly use it but this weekend my Specialist was rocking that stinger pistol!! :D

I guess ya need equally matched teams, usually GA is a mismatched mess for whatever reason. That’s where an all infantry dropzone and cargo would be nice, or a base Supremacy ground only.

Uh this only make you sound a little bit like a serial killer.... you may be getting a tiny bit too much enjoyment out of making people sad...

I do love very intense games too, but not with heroes. From my point of view, it ruins the pace and the excitement.
Two armies shooting at each other, trying to hold the line, it's cool. A force user coming from nowhere and killing 5 guys with a force push, without any chance to counter attack, it's not.
Intense troopers vs troopers is what I look for - that's why I mostly play officer with the healing aura.

Sadly the current "battlefront" playerbase doesnt want to play a "battlefront" at all... They want Heroes unleashed and kill weaker units all day to brag about their K/D

Not really. I couldn't care less about my K/D. I enjoy HU because it actually gives me a chance to play heroes in GA, and to get some of the milestones that are only reachable in GA. I'm not a scrub by any means, but by the time I have enough BP for a hero, they're usually already in use. I seldom get another opportunity, unless it's a phase 3 choke point where I'm probably going to lose the hero in 30 seconds anyway, because I PTFO.

As for certain milestones, like Iden's 50 kills with Pulse cannon or Finn's 50 headshots on troopers, they're really only attainable in GA. I can snipe w/Iden during HU and not have it impact the overall scope of battle. Nobody is grabbing her out of the gate either, so I'm not ruining anyone else's experience. Overall, I find HU enjoyable.

Actually what you’re describing isn’t HU, but standard GA, so I fixed it for you. HU presents opposing heroes at every turn. If you try and focus on troopers you’re done. Kill steaks in HU are much lower than GA.

    This precisely.

Same here, so satisfying to see heroes retreat or even die because of the stinger pistol.

I wish they would rework the assaults useless flash pistol to something similar or even the same as the stinger.
  • HU was great as usual. Too bad it’s not it’s own mode. HU is the experience HvV should be. HvV is a joke mode now. 4v4 TDM... Low grade experience. In HU something is happening everywhere. Heroes on the radar and troopers not works great in this large mode. It should at least be a once a month event.

And so should GA/CS with no heroes.
