On XBox, less than 1.5% of players ever reach Player Rank 50. The game has been out for nearly 2 years now. Player Rank 50 is a generic rank, mind you. Nothing specific to one class or another.. just over all rank. On PS4, its about the same.

What does that tell you? It should tell you that most players in the BF2 universe do not stick around long enough to ever reach Player Rank 50. Even a casual player, playing 3-4 hours on weekends for ~18 months would easily reach Player Rank 50. What this tells you is that @David1543 is spot on in his assessment that Battlefront II is a boring game. Players have left en masse since its inception in 2017. F8RGE loves to expound on how healthy his player base is, that it continues to grow. But like a blind monkey playing the stock market in a bull year, DICE Sweden are working with one of the world's premiere IP franchises: Star Wars. It's darn near impossible to muck it up... but its not for a lack of trying in this case.

Why do you think the only players left in these forums are primarily the ones who enjoy playing the Heroes in GA & CS? Do I need to lay it out in small terms, or, can you connect those dots on your own?

There are 2 or 3, maybe even 4 modes without high-tiered units called heroes. You are welcome to play that. I don’t have an issue facing heroes as other heroes or even regular troopers. Every trooper is able to inflict significant harm/disruption to a heroes gameplan. Just gotta be good enough to do that. Assault has many grenades, a 300 damage shotgun, and gas to cause damage/disrupt. Officer has double flash grenades plus an auto aim turret plus the arc that can do insane DPS after one or two rolls. Heavy has explosive shot plus instant impact made plus the explosive sentrys plus detonate charge. Specialist has stinger pistol and nt242 ion shot that does damage thru a block EVEN IF YOU MISS YOUR SHOT. Just shoot close and it will do vicinity damage.

You alone have an infinite amount of chances using free-to-play base 4 troopers in order to do any of the above, it’s apparent you’re just not skilled enough to do it.

I know of infantry players from bf15 who were on the servers when this game released, but they disappeared shortly after. One day bf17’s server crashed and we booted 15 back up. And guess what? All those familiar players were there playing bf15.
I can only imagine how many more have left by now, both the game and the forum, be it voluntarily or involuntarily.

The game is repetitive, maps look great but have a meh design regarding chokepoints and the game offers a rather terrible experience for true infantry players- with nerfs being the only form of attention they’ve received in almost two years.

It’s funny when Heromains explain to us how great the game is for infantry, while with the next update to the heroes infantry gameplay will hit an all time low.

Dice could have easily avoided all of this by giving us an ADDITIONAL all infantry mode, as we should’ve had one from the get go = No changes for any other modes required.

They are 100% aware we want this, but just like the threads for SFA, Extraction maps or weapons this is a topic that’s traditionally ignored by Dice.

Just because some people are coincidentally in the group of players who get almost all attention, while other players (paying customers) are downright ignored surely isn’t an indicator for the game being almost perfect.

The name “Battlefront” means different things for different people, so players bought this game for different reasons, and when it’s Dice not keeping “their end of the bargain” as with the new weapons we’re supposed to move on.

Don’t get mistaken why there’s less and less support for trooper content on the forum- and the legitimacy of asking for it has nothing to do with it.

100% agree with this and @JackTHorn post.

Lemme approach this a different way. While there should be a trooper only mode to cater to all the trooperlords out there, having heroes in GA and CS gives it spice and variety. There are many ways to kill heroes with troopers and not to mention vehicles, most of which have low BP costs. Im just sick of the same people making posts spewing hatred for heroes just cause a hero killed their base 4 trooper. This guy even went so far as to say the majority of people want less heroes and I just dont believe thats true. Then he went on to insinuate that because he plays Battlefield hes a better gamer than us casual Battlefront players. This isnt Battlefield. Its Star Wars Battlefront. It caters to a much wider audience than Battlefield. I also challenge anyone to name a single Star Wars film that didnt focus on the main characters(heroes and villains) I really am done with this post now. MTFBWY. That is all.

As you can see devs noone is happy with your game except a few loud minority, the majority of people want a dramatic chage in how the hero system works, this would automatically improve the game to be miles better than Its current state without having to add any content. These threads will never stop coming until something is done, because I bought a game called Battlefront, so make It play the way Its called.

Agree! Right now Battlefront is over saturated by heroes. It’s really annoying to be killed by the same two hero players over and over , practically 70% of the time I’m be killed by a hero and 30% by normal infantry.

Some problems with this game:
1. Number of heroes (reduce it by two or even one per side)
2. Heroes are playable if you have enough BP. They should separate heroes from the BP system and implement a new system.
3. Camping in the selecting screen waiting for a hero
4. Officers gain too much BP. At the star of each game half of the team are officers because is the fastest way to get the hero

This game, in the current state, is about who gets the hero first and making the longest killstreaks with your favorite hero. I didn’t buy this game for this...

Anthem just had an update with a new large map, event, about 16 new abilities, more cosmetics, 9 new weapons, and some new story missions. I see no reason to play HF2 right now

But you don't tire of it, do you? Slaughtering base-4 players like going back to 1st grade to ACE those math tests.
For me, it gets boring real fast: either way. Being a hero or being a base-4 trooper in CS & GA---either way is boring. Either you're too powerful or not nearly powerful enough. There is NO middle ground. That's the problem. DICE have introduced serious flaws in the game over the past 18 months.

The main problem is heroes are not heroes. They're just bullies on the chess board, lording over all the non-jedi-council pawns. Heroes need something heroic to strive for---not kill streaks..!!

Maybe its cause played the game so much. But honestly having 4 hereos on both sides lead to some of the mist insane fights abd shootouts I've ever heard witnessed. I dont think its "hero front" as people call it, there are a wide amount of things to be played

Enforcers: My favorite class honestly as I have mastered every strength and weakness they have and absolutely to the point where I counter hereos

Aerials: Have great espace and once you master rocket jumping they become the most traversial class

Vehicles: Tricky one here, but I've tried out some vehicle and its honestly pretty to fun going on massive killstreaks

People camping the loadout screen : (I guess you put a timer? But that would cause some controversy for people who like to change their weapons and star cards between matches)

At the end of day I get this is a discussion but chill bro/girl. The game is fun when you try playimg something new. Playing different classes, different vehicles, different reinforcements, different hereos with different card set ups is fun.

So hero’s never die when you play this game? a group of troopers vs a hero can end tragic for the hero.

I’ll never understand why people just accept that they are getting farmed and not do anything about it, they are not gods, just some really good hero users out there. Should we ban the good hero users?

To be honest, the tanks TX-130, AT-ST, whatever the droid one is are stronger than hero's. They have more health and full regen even from near enough zero

I've been mainly playing infantry and reinforcements recently and there are counters to hero's: stinger pistols, vehicles including speeders, jet troopers rocket, a good infiltrator can beat a hero, wookie overload etc

Stop blaming the game when you lose.

It's funny when saber mashers spam the lame "git gud" rebuttal. I'm quite confident I would've destroyed you potatoes back when I was playing. I know this hurts you deeply, but there are players out there who want infantry content. A balanced mode free of tiered-units would appeal to many. Infantry-only cargo would've been great, but that ship has sailed. So has BF17's relevancy.

I also find the hero system flawed, although I think my opinion is in the minority.

For me, I much prefer Battlefield 1 (don’t have BFV) over Battlefront 2. I prefer it for several reasons -

1. A larger scale (no chokepoints) that makes every game feel awesome to watch even when you keep on dying.
2. A greater emphasis on strategy.
3. Heroes

I think my real issue with heroes is how encountering one as a trooper is a death sentence, unless in numbers. It’s fun for the hero, but annoying for the trooper. When I played battlefield, when I die I’m annoyed at myself for failing. But in Battlefront I rarely find death a failure, because I often died at the hands of a hero.

I think had the maps had a larger scale and the heroes limited to just one per side, we’d be fine, because then encountering the hero is a chance occasion that can always be avoided.

Now maybe this is just a case of them being different games. I’ve always been a Star Wars fan so I will keep playing this game, but I think it would be so much better had it taken those three pointers from Dice’s other franchise. Heroes included.

Maybe you herolords should stop crying everyime you die, because the forums is literally consisted of your whinny posts and cant afford to make this game actually be any good because you just nee your exploits.

If I could choose to never get new content again but make this game actual battlefront then Id be fine with that. No content in the world is going to give this game the same replay value the originals had to keep us playing for the years to come until heroes are put in their rightful place.

I find myself playing CS more. In GA I usually resort to the stinger pistol to combat the hero spam. It's not so bad in CS although the games are too long.

Forgive me for my blasphemy but I find extraction boring. My thing is large scale type of modes and I like when all the resources of the game are present at the same time, troopers ,vehicles, starfighters, even heroes. I personally don't care if we get a trooper only mode or not, having heroes in the game is not my problem, but having 3 to 4 of them for only 4k is. If they were limited to 2 or preferably 1 for at least 8k this game would be more trooper oriented.

Era locked GA event was the best thing to have ever happened to this game. Heroes were only 2 per side and the BP system was fair, the fact this is not permanent shows the devs have no clue of anything and have made their game progressively worse since then.

I am not a "hero-lord" I literally said I was mainly playing as infantry and reinforcements.

It was just a suggestion of how to beat hero's that works for me. If you try it you may find them less annoying

It is a Star Wars game so hero's are going to feature and it is going to mainly be a casual game. Fair enough if that's not for you.

I could see an argument for raising the BP cost a bit, but otherwise I say the game is not boring in my opinion

No. Wrong. Just because it is a Star Wars game does NOT necessitate the inclusion of Elites (Aerials, infiltrators, Heroes). In fact, until BF2, I never thought of Lando, Finn, Phasma, .. Iden, Han, Leia, or Chewie as "Heroes". They were just supporting characters in the movie series--some of them more main than others. Only DICE made them "Hero" class. Not sure why JarJar is not a hero here - he has the same qualifications.

This game has the battlefront name, but gave up on the infantry focus battlefront fans were invested in.

People who wanted a good hero game have been neglected by EA, so we ended up with this mess.

Yup i could accept heroes if they were heavily limited but with the way how it currently is? no way im playing that game again...
Last time i played it was when they added CS but after 1-2 rounds i deleted the game once and for all and never looked back...
And after all this months the game hasnt changed into Battlefront yet.. nope its getting more and more Hero focused and basicly turns into SW Heroes Unleashed...

Dont take someone elses Franchise Name next time when you dont have any intentions to reproduce it with your own new touch but still true to the original.

I honestly don't understand how people can rather playing as a hero instead of infantry, it feels so good to switch between main classes, aerials, infiltrators, enforcers and vehicules. Heroes should be limitated or be more expensive
