As for the resistance spy.......Disney just recently brought this character to Galaxy's edge park "Rebel Spy"

So probably not to far off that.....I'd guess!

So what am i missing here? buy the new celebration edition and gain what exactly? are the things in it already what we have available to buy in game?
Isn't it really a no sense of achievement package for trying to get noobs in game and let them have instant stuff?

As for the BB8 and 9 statement well dunno what you lot have been smoking but good luck on that one.

Does the celebration edition come with the old LOL button because i would buy it and use it here.
  • BB8 and his dark side counterpart, I'm dying lmfao.
    Hi.
  • DICE...

Why BB-8 over C-3PO? Treepio would have skin options and apparently has a huge role in the film and has been in all trilogies. I'm disappointed...

I'm sure it's because they are working on ST content right now - we will likely get R2 at some point now that we have these two

Even though the heroes in the game are not based on movie accurate power levels, 3P0 could never be sold as a viable fighter

Celebration Edition is for new people starting out to get all the current skins in the game that most people already have.
It also allows you to play the game. The only skins they can't get are the skins from the Deluxe edition seen below!

I knew Jet Troopers were separate from Jump Troopers.
Can't wait for the update to drop. I was getting tired of nonstop Clone Wars.

    Decent update nonetheless.

They are still heroes regardless if they are weird choices I'll take them over no heroes

I'd like the idea of droid support heroes. They should have just focused on more importnat characters first but maybe later in 2020.

    Zappping?

    Ball Charge?

    Blowtorch?

I honestly have no idea. Maybe he'll be a team buff hero?

He also has those 3 cables he shoots out to balance himself while in the falcon - maybe a sort of AEO pull?

I actually more wonder what the BBs will do as their base (R2) attack? Blaster/Laser? Some sort of melee? Can't picture it...

I was thinking the same, I haven't seen them using any kind of blaster in any sort of media before. They have small arms, but they shouldn't be out while rolling.

It's true that the BBs don't at first seem like good hero choices, but should definitely bring a unique play style to the game - so it could be great for variety

Also, the heroes as they are now are not remotely designed based on their power in lore - so it's not so weird - there is no evidence Finn or Lando should be good warriors - no blaster user should have a change against any force user - etc

Okay. I'm trying to shut down my Star Wars fanboy inside me.

Good. Now I admit that could bring variety in gameplay and we had these droid support heroes idea long ago so I'm looking forward how they will play out.

4 new reinforcments? This really makes sequel trilogy matches a lot more interesting for me.
What I don't like, is that there was no Galactic Assault map in ages now ... COOP is nice, but can't be compared with a behemoth like GA.
Also we BB8 and BB9E as heroes? They are simple droids, that ran away most of time and just had their moments here and there during the movies ... they aren't murder machines like Vader or Maul. It's hard to take them serious. Also the Light side roster could really take some more lightsaber heroes.

Still 4 new reinforcments makes me look forward to this 👍

    INCOMING TRANSMISSION
    5yivndl0tgfr.jpg

After two years of updates to the game we’ve decided to give Star Wars fans an easy way to access all that content, which is why we’re introducing the Star Wars™ Battlefront II - Celebration Edition.

The short version is this: The Celebration Edition will deliver instant access to every Hero Appearance, Trooper Appearance, Emote, Voice Line and Victory Pose available in Star Wars Battlefront II that can be unlocked with Credits or Crystals, including new content coming in December with our The Rise of Skywalker Update. Simply head on over to the collection menu and they’ll be ready and waiting.

Want to play as Anakin in his General Skywalker Attire? Go ahead. Feel like playing as Boushh Leia? The choice is yours.

    What you get
    • Base game with all past and future free updates
    • 150+ Appearances, including 6 Legendary Appearances
    • 100+ Emotes
    • 90+ Victory Poses

    What isn’t included
    • Experience and Star Card progression, this will need to be unlocked via regular gameplay.
    • The Last Jedi appearances for Kylo and Rey, as these remain exclusive for players who pre-ordered, and owners of the Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition.
    • Customization options that can only be obtained via special in-game events such as Leia Princess of Alderaan or the Farmboy Luke appearances.

The Celebration Edition launches tomorrow (December 5th) and will be available as a digital download across all three platforms: Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via Origin.

If you’re new to Star Wars Battlefront II then the Celebration Edition will retail for $39.99*. For those already playing Star Wars Battlefront II and wishing to upgrade, you will be able to do so for $24.99*.

For those of you with Origin Access Premier: Good news, the Star Wars Battlefront II Celebration Edition will be included as part of your ongoing subscription.

    The Rise of Skywalker Update
    a0htwj9r7aya.jpg

The next update for Star Wars Battlefront II is titled The Rise of Skywalker and as you might have guessed, it focuses on content around the upcoming, highly anticipated film.

So what’s coming in the update? First off we have a brand-new jungle planet. You might have caught a glimpse of this jungle like planet in the last trailer for Star Wars™: The Rise of Skywalker™. We’re bringing this planet to Co-Op in December, where you’ll be playing as either the Resistance or First Order as the conflict spreads to this tropical paradise. It will also be coming to Heroes Vs. Villains.

A new planet is great but we’ve also previously mentioned new reinforcements, and this month we have four brand new ones arriving into the game, split evenly between the Resistance and the First Order.

Joining the ranks of the First Order will be the Sith Trooper, a merciless trooper excelling in speed and advanced weaponry to hunt down and destroy anyone that stands in their way.

Alongside the Sith Trooper will be the First Order Jet Trooper that has received new training and jetpack equipment to achieve dominance over the Resistance . Achieve aerial superiority over the Resistance by using your grenade-attachment enhanced blaster rifle as you dodge, hover and maneuver through the air.

Taking up arms for the Resistance will be the Gunner and Spy unit. These are two new alien species from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Since the release of Co-Op, one of the big requests was focused around bringing new eras to the mode. This month we can confirm that the Sequel Trilogy will be arriving into Co-Op across the following maps: Jakku, Takodana, Starkiller Base and our new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker inspired planet.

New appearances are also on the way. Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren will all be receiving a brand new appearance based on The Rise of Skywalker. These appearances will be available to everyone who owns the Celebration Edition, and also for credits and crystals.

The release of this update is ever so slightly different when compared to previous ones. It goes live on December 17, with one exception to this rule, the new planet, which joins our planetary rotations from December 20.

    Into the New Year
    jc7cv38p1wdi.png

It’s incredible to think we’re already in year 3 of the game’s life. With 2019 fast coming to a close our attention now turns towards what’s next.

In January, we will continue with Sequel Trilogy content as we will bring it to both Instant Action and Capital Supremacy. This includes the Resistance MC85 and First Order Resurgent-class Star Destroyer.

Rounding out January will also be two new heroes: BB-8 and BB-9E

We’re already thinking about February and March, and we’ll be back closer to the time with all the details on what to expect.

From all of us on the Star Wars Battlefront II team: Thank you for being a part of this journey and we look forward to seeing you in-game over the holiday season.

May the Force be with You

    *EA’s RRP

The only thing I wish you guys also did was a discount for Deluxe edition owners upgrading to celebration edition. I'm not big on skins but if you add an exclusive item for celebration edition I'd be sold or a discount, however I'll likely just grind the awesome new content with the boys and unlock in game. Physical owners likely hyped. Sith troopers sound amazing, hopefully they have fast health regen and are good. All of this looks good, best update yet?

  • Will the Celebration Edition give you Smuggler Han?
  • Has the UI Update, allowing us „to play the era of our choosing“ been delayed @F8RGE or can we still expect to get it in 2019?

Unlikely. It comes from milestones, the same way Princess Leia can only be acquired by an event.
May your heart be your guiding key.
  • While not a super huge fan of ST, this does appear to be a sizeable amount of content dropping which I'm all for!
BB-8 and BB-9E sound like gag characters, I'm surprised they are coming as heroes, not sure how BB-8 is going to take on the likes of Vader and the Emperor in HVV... but this addition has me hopeful for Clone Wars Season 7 heroes, hopefully 4 iconic female heroes from that era..?

Question about ST CS, you mentioned it is launching in January... however, I'm curios to know if you will drop all maps at once, or go for the same staggered approach you did for PT CS, one a month through the first half of 2019?
  • Already the best update since launch.

    Looking forward to it

  • Is Crait coming to co-op also?
  • Hey folks as I've said before keep things constructive, you're welcome to give your feedback but keep it civil and appropriate.

Also once again referring back to Our spoiler policy if you're going to post potential spoilers, simply saying *potential spoilers* and then posting it isn't enough. Place it in spoiler tags.

Poe is not a playable heroe but BB-8 will be ....emm ok.

Poe's a pilot in the movies so he's a pilot in the game...

    XD

A new map but only for Co-Op mode. Serously? XDDDDD

Geonosis was the last map for Galactic Assault mode, since 1 year. The devs abandoned this mode.

    This game is dead!

@F8RGE, Do you say that you listen the community??? It's a joke? When the community requested BB-8? When????

    - No new weapons
    - No new trooper skins.
    - No Rogue one content.
    - No OT content.

Having droid heroes provokes so many intriguing questions .... I love it.

Also I prefer these two hero's over the majority the 'community' request.

    I'm excited for it.
  • BB-8 as a hero? Kinda weird but interesting.

Hopefully there won't be another CW season after this. This era already had the longest season of all time, it's time to move on.

    BB8's abilities:
    He will
    • set your pants on fire,
    • shoot you with armour piercing casino chips,
    • and takes down AT-M6s with his tow cable.
  • Can we expect other Sequel Trilogy planets like Starkiller Base & Crait in CO-OP, Instant Action, & Capital Supremacy?
  • Well... Im really torn.

Yay for new ST stuff based on the movie but boooo that its only 1 map and not new GA maps...

BB droids in HvV? Is this a joke? No Hux or Poe!?

I really hope 2020 brings a LOT more updates with stuff the community is actually asking for... browse the general discussion forum you'll see what everyone is asking for.

Pretty bummed that I still cant get the pre-order Rey or Kylo skins... :(
  • Congrats to the whole team and thank you, this is amazing.... gotta clap for that. Very cool.

Earlier I posted a thread stating.......the only reason we probably didn't get Poe and Hux as heroes and droids instead must be because Hux is revealed as a resistance spy in this movie. Which a lot of rumors stated was going to happen.

I went and googled resistance characters today and look who is now labeled as a resistance character now in Star Wars!
    kkihvc74khls.png

I wonder if this means that the reinforcement character "Resistance Spy" is just going to be Hux?

  • I look forward to seeing Vader vs BB-8
  • Just throwing this idea out there, in TLJ BB-8 hyjacked an AT-ST and used it in quite a destructive manner. It's quite possible that they'll give him and BB-9E a large assault vehicle to use against the others (maybe have health and abilities toned down from the actual in game vehicles for balance, and cuz BB-8's had the entire roof torn off when he used it, that would remove a lot of armor. Just my two cents :P

Maybe the First Order Jet Trooper might be an extra reinforcement for the Aerial class maybe.
