Please do not change the battlepoints system, it works fine
I don't get the dislike for this, its a massive improvement from random tokens.
I'm reasonable usually but I can't fathom the concept of it being unfair - if I work hard in a game and play the objective well, why shouldn't I hit the goodies first? Its a fair system (although I can see price changes coming, which still won't benefit those complaining). I don't get why someone who is essentially contributing less feels its unfair that they can't get some goodies first? I'm an average pilot, but I don't sit there and complain that I havent had a turn in a hero ship - I havent earned it. And someone playing well will probably use it a lot better than I might, and they have worked hard to deserve their turn.
Can someone explain how the system is unfair then? Because I can't see a flaw in it.

Thats fair, I do agree that some are poor (looking at you flametrooper).
People dislike it because they have to work towards something in game and want things handed to them like it's Battlefront 2015. The system is reasonable and fair, encourages PTO and working as a team. I have yet to see a valid complaint about the system other than there should be a que line for heroes.
At least the old way it gave team B a chance to snag a token and potentially turn around a fight even if they weren't doing well to begin with.
Overall I don't really like using some of the high level heroes anyway right now because I haven't had enough practice to be comfortable with their abilities. Others just want to use them even if they have no idea what they are doing.
But surely thats down to team B not playing the objective/poorly?
Yes I agree that's some of it, but you can't expect everyone to be top dog. I find that most points have been coming from kills over objective achievements (which should be adjusted greatly) Once people start grouping up and only running with other top players it will get worse. Now watch a lot of people will bash me for this, but those are the people I'm specifically referring to. I think a point system is cool, but after playing battlefront 2015 even up till 2 days ago, I know there are some people much stronger than others and matches tend to get run by one dominating side. This system just aids that imo.

Gotta say that the Flametrooper is in need of improvement, but the jump troopers or whatever they're called are awesome. Saw on the threads yesterday someone said the Wookie is weak, boy was that guy wrong
I honestly don't care for the RNG card based level system for the classes.. I just like to grind for that ..just getting a card takes the fun out of it.
Everything else though..I'm on board with
This guy gets it
You do that, it only makes it easier to get heroes for top guys. I think they should just add a rubber band midway through that gives a point modifier to random lower skilled guys. It'll keep them involved and also give them a chance to even the fight.
But ..a question.
I was in a game used 4 ions to blast the transport ...and hit every time 6 kills and did some defending of couple other guys with ions..felt I was an objective beast..yet I was at like 2000 pts.. before it went into the palace
My question is...how are players getting heros early on in the game at 5000pts
When I feel I was doing all that I could to play objectively ... how and what am I doing wrong
And how are these points even givin out?
Comes down to k/d?....great
If that's true then it's not objectively based game play..it's either camp and get kill streaks or just be a very good player
It's all adding up now

Yup, the more I play the beta, the more I realize it's an infantry shooter with "killstreak rewards." I'm not into infantry combat, plus I suck at mouse+keyboard FPS, but I enjoy vehicular combat. Unfortunately, being a vehicle specialist doesn't seem like it is supported by the game when you must play infantry to get points for vehicles. Glad I haven't spent a single cent to find this out.
Same. The current bonus is what, 1 point per buffed unit? It's pathetically low especially considering that the officer's main use is supposed to be supporting allies with his abilities.
I think the defender card for Heavy could use a slight points increase as well. When the card says "small amount of points for taking damage" it's an uderstatement. Even at the highest tier it's 9 points per hit. It makes that card not worth using imo. I think going 8, 10, 12, 14 for that card would be better.
Perhaps they could let half of the lobby have dibs on something in the beginning, I mean it's still down to chance and randomness but a 50% chance isn't bad at all. Because for the first few minutes there is no vehicles or reinforcements... nothing

if it was normal conquest like battlefield 1 and you could choose the same reinforcement multiple times a match imagine it.
the system is fine but does need tweaking. like the droid tank is near useless because you barely get it in time to do anything even if you do well.
It shouldn't even be a card, and just be an in-built part of the Heavy class.
Either way, I’m ok with the system as is. I don’t think the items are overpriced. There will be DEDICATED hero modes you can play.
Yeah the heroes aren't overpriced, they are a nice goal with a well-balanced challenge for the most part. The problem is things like the AAT. How can you expect to play as a 3,500 AAT and then a 3,000 B2 Battle Droid? Put a 1,100 point Hyena Bomber in there and there's no way. And I mean that's just 3 things. 3 really isn't that much. Unless you expect to go on a 22-kill streak every match. It's just some things can be lowered in price. Things like the V-wing at 800? Jumptrooper at 2,000? That's honestly fine.

It's not about a good player deserving their earned points, it's about medium and weak players having fun too. Shouldn't everyone have fun? No matter how bad you are, if you never get to be the hero, that's not fun. Everyone complained about the tokens in SWBF1 but at least everyone had a shot of them. I don't know the best solution, but possibly death streak points. In other words, if the game realizes you've had 5 terrible rounds the 6th round your score is doubled. Something like that. I know I'm in the minority but I don't play COD for this exact reason. The best players got even better perks making average players like myself die from stupid crap like helicopters in the sky.
While I agree it has some tweaking that is needed, I think it is WAY better than the token system. I have played Battlefront 2015 for almost 2 years now and have pumped almost 300 hours in and I can count on two hands the amount of times I've become a hero on walker assault.

Using the ATRTS and AATs could increase your score faster if used well....
I dunno..I really haven't had much time to play ..life and all
But I got 2 solid days to play.maybe I'll have a better idea then
I let an 11 year old play and they got the AAT (Separatist Armored Assault Tank) in roughly five minutes. They even made it to the winners circle for most kills.
Ok? So all the sudden that makes all of us players who are fair players and can't quite get the AAT easily obsolete and suck? I might as well quit all gaming then

Maybe have everyone start with a set amount of BP, enough to afford a vehicle or reinforcement character, but not a hero. You can use the points to spawn at the start (there are still limits on the numbers that can be spawned at any time), or save them and have a little jump getting to more costly items sooner. Of course, I also think the costs need lowering some too. It'd be nice to be able to realistically play as a hero or reinforcement more than once a match (and not have to choose which you want, effectively eliminating any chance of the other).
Or even vehicles. I've yet to get a single AAT on Theed. I suck at infantry gameplay but I love the vehicle gameplay that made the original Battlefronts. But unfortunately, EA messed this up and now we have a game that revolves around infantry and everything else is a reward for doing well... oh wait, what other game series does this? I hear they have a WWII-themed game coming out soon...
You make it sound like rewarding players who do well is a bad thing.
I did not ask for Call of Duty: Star Wars edition. Do you not understand how the originals worked? Do you not know how EA's own Battlefields work? Vehicles are open to all and you could choose to specialize in vehicles only if you did not care about the infantry gameplay. You are basically telling me that because I only want to specialize in vehicles, that somehow makes me less of a player and a customer? And that I don't deserve to be able to afford vehicles through the current battlepoints system?
You sure make it sound like you are an elitist. By the way, I heard that Call of Duty makes games focused around infantry gameplay, where you get rewarded via killstreaks for doing well. You might want to go check them out, they seem to make your kind of game.
I played the everliving crap out of the old games. They were my favorite games to play as a kid (particularly BF2 on the PS2, didn’t get the original BF until I was older). Recently I’ve been playing quite a bit of Battlefield 1. Great game, definitely one of the better ones I’ve played in recent years. I see nothing wrong with specializing in vehicular combat.
When did I say that? I’m all for making vehicles more easily accessible (maybe then we’ll actually see some), but Little Timmy who does nothing but stare at the background shouldn’t be getting to use an AAT when Little Johnny has been working his butt off defending the MTT. I’m not gonna judge your play style, but if you’re having trouble with infantry try focusing on the objectives or playing as an Officer and supporting the people who are better at the infantry stuff.
I haven’t touched COD since BOII (still play Zombies sometimes though cause I like the mindless action sometimes). I have ZERO interest in the newer installments of the Call of Duty franchise.
