Obi Wan Kenobi abilities

I've already discussed what abilities grevious could have a while back, but not obiwan. I feel like I have some pretty good ideas but let me know what you think.

Ability 1: Bloody Limbs; For a short time, Obi Wan's lightsaber will have an extra added damage over time on his light saber swing. Can only be applied to a played once. For instance, this ability can be very useful to take down high health enemies. It would still have the regular saber damage, but over a short amount of time deal even more damage.

Ability 2: Force Disrupt: Disrupt enemy blasters and blind them for a short period. This ability would be quick and devastating. It would be shot in a cone in front of obi wan.

Ability 3: Force Stamina: Obiwan gets increased speed and lightsaber swing rate for a short time. His stamina for blocking and swinging refreshes and stays at zero.

Passive: On death, Obiwan's allies around him get a slight damage boost out of anger.

He would be able to block!

  • This is a portion of what I posted in another thread on this topic. I don't have any guesses for his 3 primary abilities, but here is my idea for a unique block mechanic for him.

    -Soresu Riposte-

Obi Wan is known for his defensive lightsaber fighting style known as Soresu or Form III. Building off of that, I would do the following with his block. It would be similar to Yoda's block but with a melee focus. When Obiwan blocks an incoming attack, he gains a significant damage boost on his next melee attack. This damage boost can stack up to 3 times. When it is stacked up to 3, he will break the block of his opponent.
  • Obi-wan and anakin need to be among the light sides best heroes. So they need powerful abilities. Nothing like the sad state of Luke or Ren.

    Obi-Wan

Defensive stance: While active obi-wan automatically defends against all incoming blaster fire and saber strikes for 4 seconds, being attacked while it's up extends its duration in diminishing returns. Can strike back while it's active.

    Light saber Throw

Will of the force: when activated, if Obi-wan dies within its duration he revives with X amount of health, long cooldown. Or becomes a force ghost with X damage/speed increase for 8-15 seconds.

Sounds pretty cool, but I feel he should have a lightsaber block for other lightsaber wielders
  • I had a dream obi-wan and grevious were in the game, but obi-wan was running around kinda invisible/ghostly.
So that ghost ability suggestion is pretty insane to me.

As long as there is an option to respawn as a force ghost. :) I wish I could play as ghost Yoda too.

Yup his block would function like a regular lightsaber block. The only difference in my idea is that he just gains offensive charges after blocking that buff his follow up attacks.

That sounds more like Shien/Djem So, which is what Anakin uses primarily. Obi Wan's style Soresu is about an amazing defense, wearing out an opponent and winning in the long-run. Anakin's style is more about creating an opening and brutal counter attacks. In terms of blocking blasters, it would be like deflecting to just protect yourself (Soresu) versus reflecting the bolt back at the enemy (Shien).

Still a cool idea. But it would just fit Anakin more than Obi Wan.
We need a Tier System for the Heroes. It would justify the "op-ness" of Vader over Han and Chewbacca. It would cost much more to unlock Vader, and would require you to save a lot more than for other heroes and vehicles, but it would be rewarding in the end...

Obi Wan's Rebels duel with Maul was the inspiration for my idea. Incredible defense followed up by ruinous offense. I also don't think that the hero team needs another heavily defensive/support Jedi.

Well, that's truly what Obi Wan is. I'd like it if he was more of a defensive than supporting Jedi, though. Anakin should be more gong ho and attack orientated.

There needs to be a Passive High Ground ability that gives him more damage the higher his elevation is compared to the enemy

I want this to be realistic. Everyone that approaches Obi Wan from a lower elevation instantly dies and is logged out of the game.

A bit like the commander in bf4

This made me think... It would be cool to have the same character selection for Vader, but instead a skin that makes him force ghost Anakin (from episode 2/3). Or just regular Anakin. This skin would be adaquately priced of course.
  • One idea I had for his abilities are that by default, deflecting blaster shots and saber strikes would drain far less stamina then other heroes.

This would tie in well with the principles of Soresu and make him unique compared to the other heroes.

An idea of mine for Obi-Wan:

Hello there: Obi-wan instantly appears on the radar for all separatist players, as well as on your screen with a giant 'try and kill me, if you dare' message over his head

I would like to see Obi-Wan as the middle-ground between Rey and Luke (no pun intended). I'd like him to be nimble, but not as agile as Luke, and also hardy, but not as tough as Rey.

    So my thoughts are:

    Health: 800hp
    Health Regen: 200hp
    Damage per lightsaber strike: 105

    Abilities:

Force Disabler - disables the abilities and health regeneration of all heroes & troopers in its area of effect. Note: it does not disable blasters or lightsabers, only the L1, R1 and L1 + R1 special abilities. The ability also completely disables the health regeneration of anyone affected! Enemies caught will not regenerate any health for the duration of the ability. The duration of this ability is 3 seconds at base level. When is ends, the villains and soldiers' abilities and health regeneration become available again (abilities are instantly usable if they were fully charged before being disabled). If they were not fully charged, they continue to recharge at the stage they were at prior to being disabled.

Health Recovery - similar to the Assault Class's 'Toughen Up', this ability allows Obi-Wan to heal at a rapid rate. He gains 100hp per second for 5 seconds, for a total maximum of 500hp. Any damage that he takes during the ability active time will automatically heal instantly, but is deducted from the total healing potential.

Lightsaber Prowess - Obi-Wan tracks an enemy's movement and delivers a quick 3-strike combination of lightsaber attacks to them for heavy damage. Each attack deals more damage than the last; 100, followed by 125 and finally 150, for a total of 375. Obi-Wan cannot be stunned during the attack of this animation, but can still take damage. The first attack cannot be dodged or blocked, but the second and third strikes can. If these are blocked, the player blocking is staggered.

    Emotes:

    So uncivilised...
It's over! I have the high ground!
    Hello there!

He should have the ability to negotiate a contract that nets him over 2% of the profits of a movie that he has very little interest in, making him a multi multi millionaire. Another ability could be to make a legendary performance that echo's through time without even knowing what the lines he's reading mean.

I dont know about abilities but I think I could come up with card names as these are usually based on things that happen in the movie

Do what you feel is right
    Jedi mind trick
Luke use the force (some kind of buff of playing with luke)
    There are alternatives to fighting
Eyes can deceive you, dont trust them
An elegant weapon (buff to his lightsaber damage)
    The negotiations were short
Only a sith deals in absolutes (negative affect on dark side force users)
He will learn patience (buff cooldown to surrounding allies)
More powerful than you can possibly imagine
Learn about the force (allow other players in surrounding radius to get a temporary force ability)
  • What about a block that draws all nearby blaster fire to him?
  • All of these ideas sound cool, but it's putting the cart before the horse. I am interested in seeing when EA will, if ever, dignify the sheer existence of Obi Wan. I have never seen an "iconic" character avoided like the plague more than him.

They did it with BF15, and it's happening again. It would be nice if they addressed the issue one way or another. But their communication is terrible in general, so ... I guess a giant "whatever."
  • Where Is the Hello There ability? And the High Ground ability?
I finally rest. And watch the sun set on an offline universe.
  • I've already discussed what abilities grevious could have a while back, but not obiwan. I feel like I have some pretty good ideas but let me know what you think.

Passive: On death, Obiwan's allies around him get a slight damage boost out of anger.

He would be able to block!

The Force Stamina ability idea matches what I was think where he would be very good at lightsaber blocking and defense The death boost ability, I really like that too!
