I'm sure they'll just keep doing what they've been doing...staying in complete denial that their Uncle Mark doesn't hate what they want him to hate. So sad.

So sad that you can't see the legal bull that really happened.

    Enlighten us. What really happened?

It has to be more interesting than the last 5 pages of this movie was great, no it was terrible back and forth.
    Plus I'm out of popcorn

Ok, just bear with me for a second. Mark was saying how he hated the way Luke was going in TLJ for months in advance prior to release. Not too long after the release, he did a complete 180, saying how it was a masterpiece and Rian is a great director. Now, to me, it seems like Disney came down on him and told him to shut his trap, because it isn't good for the film if one of the major actors talks bad about it. There was probably some contract binding or legal threats made by Disney to force him to change his opinion, and turn him from bashing the film to promoting it. He said something like he didn't like a film as much as when he made TESB.

Given the fact that he was saying he's "not my Luke Skywalker" not too long ago and then completely changes his opinion to loving the film, seems a bit too suspicious for me.

If you want to not believe in what I said, that's fine. However, when you talk down to me when I say I agree with someone else, then I don't care about your opinion as much.
I've been out of popcorn for a while now lol.

First of all, no one talked down to you... If you’re going to use a person as a tool to validate your opinion, you atleast should be able to back it up, don’t you think? If you’re saying that what we’ve been seeing is Disney taking legal action against Hamill, for speaking his mind about how he initially disagreed with the story of Luke Skywalker, then the burden of proof really is on you. Otherwise, maybe you should stay clear of the subject altogether? Why even go there?

Also, I’ve yet to see any clip or article where Mark Hamill is actually saying he hates or dislikes TLJ. The ”not my Luke Skywalker” thing seems to have been taken way out of context... Yeah, he is saying that he didn’t initially agree with how Luke Skywalker was portrayed in TLJ and that this is not how he invisioned the character that has been a part of him for 40 years, it’s not his Luke Skywalker - it’s Rian Johnson’s Luke Skywalker, but people have created some kind of weird movement out of it. If I were Mark Hamill, I’d be very uncomfortable with people using me in a hate campaign against myself, so to speak. He says he regrets talking about his initial reservations in public. I feel sorry for him.

You can believe what you wanna believe aswell, no worries. But when you guys can’t back your claims up with anything, your suspicions aren’t that relevant. I simply have no reason to believe you.
You remember that story around CNN? Remember how they threatened a dude to take down and apologize for posting that "Trump WWE" Parody Video?

    Pretty much the same thing

No, I don’t remember. I don’t live in the USA and don’t follow their political circus. Was that also just rumours based on people’s suspicions?

Luke messed up big time and acted out in fear and desperation instead of trying to first talk with Ben and get him to control his dark side tendencies. Luke was not in control one bit and was portrayed as a desperate hermit who fled after making a mess into exile instead of being responsible for his actions to push Ben into the dark side even more. Then Luke just hid without helping or recruiting more light side users because he lost faith in himself and his ability to be a good teacher and a Jedi. Totally detroyed Luke, Disney has. Yoda too failed for snoozing and not smacking Luke on the forehead sooner.

Well, just look up any video on Hamill disliking TLJ. Sure, now it looks as if he likes it, but, for my evidence, he strongly disagreed with what they did to Luke. He was saying negative things about the film months in advance. Just type in "Mark Hamill disliking TLJ" and go to videos. Plenty of evidence there (if it isn't mysteriously deleted).

He then does a complete 180.
    Seems fishy to me.

But hey, if you don't wanna believe it, that's fine.
We need a Tier System for the Heroes. It would justify the "op-ness" of Vader over Han and Chewbacca. It would cost much more to unlock Vader, and would require you to save a lot more than for other heroes and vehicles, but it would be rewarding in the end...

"It would essentially ruin the eras and turn them into nothing much more than the same thing and same experience but with a different skin. Which is contrary to the point in having eras in the first place." - ZmanGames

This may seem a lil off topic but IMO there are a lot fans that disagree with the direction they took his character but will adamantly defend it because they are in the current denial stage of grief. They are trying to force themselves to like it and think the way he was portrayed was true to character when in reality they know it isn’t. SW and Luke’s character means a lot to some fans and some would rather try to convince themselves that what was done to his character is correct when in reality they are just trying to avoid the negativity and are in denial.

(No clue what these forums are up to right now... I went in to edit a spelling error and the whole post disappeared. Sorry if there’s a double post)

Why even go there?

    hamill-disney-comments-1070460.jpeg

Hehe, yeah well... the 49% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes seems fishy to me. We all have something we believe is the truth I suppose.

I haven’t seen one clip where he says he doesn’t like the film. Only that he initially didn’t agree with the director regarding Luke. But if you’re saying it’s out there I’ll keep looking I guess. I’d ask you to link one, but...

He’s even stated that TLJ Luke is “not my Luke skywalker”

    Meaning?

TLJ Luke doesn’t properly portray the character of Luke.
  • Hey guys....Alec Guiness was not shy in hating ANH. He didn't like his character, any of the characters, the plot or George Lucas.

Now be consistent with your logic and tell us how much you hate A New Hope...cram it down every thread and post and pretend to convince those who like it that they are wrong.

    Ready? Aaaaaand DON'T CONTRADICT YOURSELF.

Oh and we're still waiting on that proof with Hamill...not your private speculation. Oh wait...I forgot that nobody cares.

    "But...but...b'b'b'but Mark said......"

Your the one that seems to be not using logic here. That’s not a fair comparison since mark doesn’t like the direction they took an already established character. Way different than just not liking a character to begin with

This. So much this. Hit the nail dead center.

No, it’s not particularily off topic I think. It’s pompous drivel made up by somone who can’t stand the fact that others may have a different opinion than them, sure, but it’s not more off topic than the rest of the posts these last pages. You’re conveniently forgetting about the warm and cozy coaches aboard the hate train, huh? All those cool youtubers dissing the movie, all the forum back-patting... You really enjoyed the movie, but... dang that doesn’t seem ”normal” and you want to be in that gang so bad... sounds familiar? Sounds fair?

We need a Tier System for the Heroes. It would justify the "op-ness" of Vader over Han and Chewbacca. It would cost much more to unlock Vader, and would require you to save a lot more than for other heroes and vehicles, but it would be rewarding in the end...
