A full array of Reinforcements

So we currently have the Enforcer class of reinforcement, half of which are Wookiees even though that doesn't make a ton of sense in terms of story. The Death Trooper is currently an Enforcer class reinforcement.

Now there's talk of getting a new Sentinel class reinforcement, of which the Clone version will be the ARC Trooper, and the rebel version will be the Rebel Pilot.

The word Sentinel means watcher or guard, which implies a sort of passive or defensive role. But the ARC Trooper is a Recon unit, intended to charge forward into enemy territory in order to gain information and push the battlefront forward. And a Pilot seems like more of a technician, able to repair or slice computers and machines. Meanwhile the Death Trooper is actually defined as a special guard for high-ranking Imperials, but the Death Troopers aren't Sentinels, they're Enforcers.

Here's what I'd like to see in order to make sense of it all:

ENFORCER
* Galactic Marine (purple-armored clones with snowtrooper-like helmet veils and green polarized visor-lenses)
* Super Battledroid or Droideka (player choice)
* KX-Series Imperial Droid (as per K2SO)
* Rebel Mercenary
* First Order Special FORCES (as FO TIE Pilot, but with red markings)
* Wookiee Warrior (actually makes sense for Resistance)

AERIAL
* Clone Paratrooper (with paratrooper helmet, color markings by map/legion)
* Super Jump Battledroid (as current, with blue chevron marking)
* Imperial Jet Trooper (as current)
* Rebel Smuggler (as current)
* First Order Jet Trooper (as current)
* Resistance Jet Trooper (as current)

SENTINEL
* ARC Gunner (blue markings, Clone Gunner helmet)
* IG-100 Magnaguard (reddish skin or bluish skin, no cape)
* Death Trooper or Nova Guard Trooper (choice of skins)
* Alderaanian Honor Guard (long olive coat, white helmet with blast visor down)
* First Order Executioner (black markings)
* Resistance Guardian (???)

RECON
* ARC Trooper (blue markings, large pauldron, rangefinder, bandoliers)
* BX-Series Commando Droid (black with white eyes, deep voice)
* Storm Commando (black Scout Trooper armor)
* Alliance Infiltrator (gray and dark brown, with face mask covering mouth)
* First Order Commando (???)
* Resistance Recon (???)

TECHNICIAN
* Clone Pilot (phase 1 or 2, according to map)
* B1 Droid Pilot (blue shoulder markings)
* Imperial Navy Gunner (black uniform, beetle-helmet)
* Rebel X-Wing Pilot (orange flightsuit)
* First Order Navy Gunner (black uniform, beetle-helmet)
* Resistance U-Wing Pilot (blue flightsuit)

Maybe we don't need so many reinforcement classes. We can lose one or two of these, maybe combine the Sentinel and technician. And some of these Trooper types would work quite well as skins for existing basic classes... for example, the Galactic Marine would do well as a high rank skin for Clone Assault or Heavy, and the Imperial Gunner would work for the Imperial Heavy. The Storm Commando would be a good skin for very high rank Imperial Assault Troopers, or maybe Specialists. Pilots in general would make decent Specialist skins.

But it strikes me that we could use more reinforcement classes, to fit the different abilities and needs, and this list might be a good place to start.

    I have been thinking something like this in the past few days.
    Concept:
    - Up, left to right: Clone Commando, Rebel Commando and New Republic Special Forces - Down, left to right: Commando Droid, Imperial Marine and First Order Special Forces
    ltmukb7n6dc5.jpeg
    250 HP
    Abilities:
    Right: Viewfinder, gives you temporarily night vision
    Middle: Grenade launcher, changes your current weapon into a GL
    Left: Sticky grenade, throws a bomb that adheres to any surface

    You will be able to change any ability to one of the initial 4 infantry classes abilities, as well as the initial weapons. This will give you the option to make interesting combinations, for example, to protect an area you could deploy a turret and activate sentry, or to lay an ambush you could throw shock grenade and then destroy the stunned enemies with vanguard. There are plenty of posibilities.
    I don’t know where you can fit this in your reinforcements classes, but feel free to change anything if you wish.

    There needs to be more enforcers but the problem is there’s no good choice for
    Rebels or Resistance. Only Republic.

    I like the idea of a Rebel Mercenary, as I listed -- heavy-armored in patchwork armor, lots of ammo pouches and gear, RT-97c stolen from some Imperial munitions base, Imploder + Overcharge + Stim Shot.

    And the Resistance would have the Wookiees, as they are, like I listed.
  • I'd rather have the pilots as an alternate officer skin. First, because officers are aesthetically boring, and second, I can't imagine a pilot having more than a pistol as a sidearm.

    I'd also like to see the AT-AT driver as an alternate heavy for the Imperials.

    You're talking regular-class skins, then... like I said, if not actual new Reinforcement types, a lot of these would be good skin options for regular classes. So yeah, for sure!

    I actually like the idea of Pilots as alternative skins for Officers. I hadn't thought of it before, but it works well -- light-armored, use pistols... and Pilots are usually Officer-rank anyways.

    AT-AT Drivers as Imperial Heavies, sure... and Navy Gunners, too.
  • I like all these ideas! I'd love to see them in the game, especially the Clone Commando, Clone Paratrooper, the Clone Pilot, and the Rebel Mercenary.
  • The ARC Heavy Gunner also sounds awesome!
  • There could be several skins for some reinforcements, too... for example, the Clone Recon unit could have the base skin be an ARC Trooper, but have another option for an ARF Trooper, another option for a 91st Recon Trooper, and a max-rank option for an ARC Captain.
