Officer is still OP.

Why didn't dice nerf officers?
Dice is too crazy!

  • They did nerf the Officer quite well, Blurrg is not instagib anymore.

SE44C finally needs a cooling flush. Perfect.

With this change OP BP rate does not give you auto-hero anymore!

Lots of Heavies and Assaults now in the leaderboard.

    A change well done!
  • The se44c thing is a bug the cooling mod isn't working neither is the nt242 cooling mod and their aware and fixing it.
  • The nerf wasn't as bad as I thought and I'm happy about that at least!
  • I am just hoping they didn't over-nerf the Blurgg, I definitely recognized it needed some work as far as damage reduction and range, but these guys have a tendency of completely neutering stuff when they nerf it. As long as the headshots still do good damage, I am fine with it. If I have to start two-shotting people in the dome to get kills, then on the SE-44C I go.

Blurrg is fine. It still feels great.

The patch makes me all happy :)

Don't even know why I am answering this with logic to be honest. The nerf crowd don't seem to know what logic is.

    They didn't touch the se44.

Blurg got a slight nerf. Still the same.

Well, not directly. The cooling mod no longer works, so it is harder to use.

SE44C fires 20 shots before overheating vs 40. The patch indirectly affected the the cooling mods of weapons. NT242 is also affected.

I don't understand how people do not see the logic behind strong guns for officers or their buff capability (even though some only have clothes on).

Seriously though, nobody will listen to me, but here goes again.

It makes absolute sense that they can inspire their teammates through buffs and that those buffs apply to them as well.

It also makes absolute sense that officers are better than other troopers because they most likely had more training than the other troopers (I'm talking about hierarchy: officers are supposed to be superior because of rank/training).

The officer specializes in support, it's true, but if you look on the games website, it does mention that they hold the team together as the lynchpin, and control the battlefield.

I think they were made with the idea that officers ARE superior to other troopers and that's why they gave them the strong guns, and that's why they gave them relatively non-damaging abilities for Star cards.

But I'm sure this post will remain invisible to the majority of people in this thread and the forum.

A way to stop officer spam would be to have a limit per team say 4, idk. But then, those 4 people would get all the BP's and heroes faster SOOO, officer get's reduced BP's by say 15%. I mean it makes sense there should be less officers than regular dudes, a feature like this is the Red Orchestra games, instead of spawning on a squadmate, you can spawn on a officer, they could get like 20bp for having a team mate spawn on them.

But it was quite alright to castrate the main purpose of the heavy class last patch?

Yes, that makes sense too. I don't really think a limit on the amount of officers would be a good idea. They just need to adjust what should be adjusted. I am glad that you saw my post though, it's not that visible.

Great to think that way, but then out of the box by default that theory should have the game with 3 classes, assault, heavy and specialist and make officer a reinforcement behind a BP wall to use. You yourself just stated thru are better trained and higher rank for the reason of being better, so they shouldn't be one of the main free classes then.

  • You may get a ton of BP, but if you can't play a hero/villain it doesn't matter.

Skill still trumps BP & Purple Ability Cards, no matter what class you're playing.
  • I don't know I played ENDOR and seemed to get less BP now as officer.

But I have never used the bounty hunter card , just Officer's presence.

I got one hero this game and couldn't get another after I died.

Seems like a stealth nerf took place.

I also died around a ton of my squad-mates and wasn't getting BP randomly.

    Perhaps stealth nerf?

    I'll teall you the truth™

Since the guns got nerfed and the Officer isn't THE single best class for every situation, our gain in BP is also reduced. We kill less, and die more in risky situations.

Imho it's perfect now, and I tell you why.

The best Class now say for Empire Hoth Phase 1 is the Assault. You hunt down targets, have the best midrange gun.

The best Class for Rebel Hoth Phase 1 is now the Heavy.
PTO score from sentry, while still great guns cqc for defense.

All in all, Assault is now the best class for hunting mid-range.

Heavy is the best for CQC.

Officer is now between those 2, excelling neither.

It is no longer the Class that's best for everything, while still good.

I have and will from now on use every class more often, based on situation and not always Officer, since they in my opinion finally got the Class balance perfect.

The "nerfs" to Blurrg still dont stop 1shot, therefore it still trumps all other classes. SE44 perhaps, however I dont use that since I dont like the spray and pray nature. I would say sustain over speed anyday, thats how you get BP quick to get heros. Dying is less efficient, and as Officer you dont die often. I would say over 50% of my rounds will be 1 death only, and that would be a manual respawn to get hero....post patch that is the same. I havent noticed any decrease in BP generation, or any added difficulty dispatching or other players.

Well for me it is harder now to kill with the Blurrg.
While still a good gun, I can't take out 7 people in less than 10 seconds like before.

    It needs more skill now.

From what I have seen from today, a wide variety of Classes is now in the Top 5, Heavy and Assaults and Officers.

This goes for Public matches though, and I am very certain Dice can measure this, and they will have more sustainable Data on this in the next weeks.

I will take more of a note tonight when I play. Out of the 10 or so rounds post patch I played last night I essentially saw no difference.
