Could We Receive Suppressor Capable Blasters?

Yes I know to some of you this may sound ridiculous, but there a select number of weapons within Star Wars that have been silenced. I think this would add an interesting way to play that could be really fun.
I would give one suppressor capable blaster to each class, except heavy. They’re a little too explosive to go quiet.
There are some pretty cool suppressed weapons you guys could add:
  • DC-19 Stealth Carbine Assault
    fgtlhvsmkhc8.jpeg
  • Nightstinger Rifle Specialist
    8sndliinec6d.jpeg
  • The Silencer Officer (A name change may not hurt)
    v97tsx6yag7r.jpeg
They could have the old trademark of lowered range when equipped, and have it be the first attachment to unlock for said weapons.
What do you guys think?

Well, for Specialist if it removed the tracer, then sure. That would be cool.

  • Well if they were to add a 4th mod this would be a good idea to add on a few weapons.

That could be an interesting additional effect. It would make a lot of sense to reduce the signature of not just the sound but the light and trace as well.

I think this should be geared more towards the Specialist class, this suits them a lot. Overall these are good suggestions and I would like to see it in the game.

  • That "BLAMMMM" seems to indicate that the Nightstinger is anything but suppressed. Hehe.

    Also, laser bolts. ;P.

I do want to see a larger collection of weapons though, but not at the cost of feeling same-y as they tended to do in BF'15. Also, a tier of the vanilla weapons that can be modded. I miss the E-11 and F-11D.

That, and possibly replacing Infiltration’s EE-4 with a Stealth carbine. That would allow different variations of the Infiltration gun, without changing the core ability. Either that, or the silencer pistol would be nice to carry, as the class is in need of a reliable secondary.

I know I know not a great picture for demonstration lol I assure you it’s silenced, just not for Boba Fett. In some older Legacy books Imperial snipers used it to frame rebel leaders for murder since in the books, it could be optionally fired with invisible shots in addition to be suppressed. The DC-19 could also fire invisible shots. I just don’t know how that’d work in game as cool as it’d be.
I’ve been hoping for the same things. A real variety would be great for the game, and a good place to start would be suppressed weapons since that is very different from the norm especially for Star Wars.
Sidenote, I’d love for the E-11 to be modifiable.

So you think it would be preferable to give all 3 weapons to Specialist? I’ll admit it’d make sense, just at the cost of other classes being able to go quiet.
Being able to switch the EE-4 for the DC-19 as a higher precision/longer range infiltration option with the bonus of being silenced would be very cool.

I’d love The Silencer blaster pistol as a secondary for the Specialist, it would fit in so great to the class. There are so many times I’ve wished for a real sidearm and what better than a suppressed pistol? Just on par damage wise with the flash pistol is all it needs to be.

Perhaps the Nightstinger could receive the shadow ammunition(invisible or much less visible) in addition to being silenced for true undetected sniping. I was a huge fan of the CS5 in battlefield 4 so I have a feeling I’d like that as well. Besides we all know specialists are always almost immediately detected since their guns are so identifiable by sound which usually results in death.
Another alternative to having these weapons could be a unique star card for the specialist class that allows them to attach a blaster suppressor with Triangle/Y that degrades after so many shots, comes off and cools down, and repeat. I’d prefer the additional weapons myself though. Hope you guys like this idea and take it into consideration!

  • I completely agree. Great ideas as always.

They should definitely add some more weapons into the game with suppressor attachments, like for example with the X-8 Night Sniper from the last game. That weapon actually disguised you from the radar when you fired it, pretty cool mechanic & made the gun truly unique.

    More weapons are always welcome.
Just as long as they're not completely broken like a few guns right now, then I'd be totally down with it.

  • It would be nice to see stealth weapons for the Specialist at least, but not the other classes as I personally feel it wouldn't suit them.

Unfortunately, the issue is Disney. I don't think there are currently any 'suppressed' blasters in their Canon.

I'd also love to see more weapons including versions of the default blasters like the E-11 so they are their own, modifiable weapons rather than clones of each other in terms of performance... Maybe the default, boring versions could be scrapped and the actual, modifiable versions would replace them? Having more weapons might also mean we can then keep weapons in specific eras so the immersion isn't as broken... and besides, I can't be the only one who wants to use the A180 again, or have the E-11D (Death Trooper E-11) and E-22.

Are you by any chance referring to the Blurrg, exploding DC-15LE or - to some extent - the EL-16HFE? I have absolutely no idea why someone would believe they are broken... ;)

On a side note, I originally believed that the heavy would use the Z-6 rotary blaster as their main weapon when I saw the multiplayer trailer... instead we have a DC-15 that has a high rate of fire despite being detailed on the wiki as "not a true dedicated repeating blaster rifle; the inherent instability of plasma gas in the blasters reduced the weapon's accuracy under sustained fire."

Well to answer your question specifically, I was alluding toward the DC-15LE Exploding shot, the SE-44C, and the Blurrg. My reasons behind my claim is because they perform better & have a faster kill time than any other gun in the game, and I'm quite frankly getting sick of it.

Unfortunately yes these are all from OG Legacy. The Disney canon is slim for content like this right now however and it’d really help them out if they gave some artistic liberty to the people they trusted with the Star Wars license. If DICE isn’t allowed to add unique weapons/return adapted Legacy gear then I will severely disappointed, that’s just stifling. There was a lot of cool weapons from the old days, and the games had a big part in filling that armory. Here’s hoping we could start with this covert ops suppressed weapons bundle and keep moving from there. ACP weapons, real disruptor rifles, slugthrowers... it’s Star Wars! They’ve barely scratched the surface!
I’m hoping that’ll be possible. I’m fine with them adding varients to all the default weapons so we can finally use them as we please. I don’t care how they rename them... E-11b, DC-15SA1, DLT-19XA4, etc would add perfect opportunity to modify those. If we got an E-11 modifiable varient that made it how it was in BF2015 I’d have a hard time not using it for the other eras. I’d be all for the A180 that gun was fantastic, especially Jyn’s version. I’m all for the E-11D and E-22.

Dice can add stuff from Legends anytime they want. Although I'd assume they would need to get the 'Okay' from Lucas Film before they go off doing something like that.
They added in the Tl-50 & Bryarr pistol from the jedi knight games way back in the Death Star DLC. They also added the bionipp laboratories from legends as a Bespin DLC map.

There's also a ton of Legends references in the BF2 campaign.

    There is still hope.

  • I like this idea. It would be really cool for the specialist and infiltration would make a lot more sense rather than have an automatic pistol that sounds like a CR-2 had a baby with a blurrg.
  • This would be cool. Also, you could have a Specialist weapon which was not a sniper but more of an infiltrator weapon, an SMG/fast firing but not quite as damaging per hit pistol/small rifle. One of the mods could be a suppression barrel. That would be cool.

  • I hate the way Disney just scrapped most things outside the films as "non-canon" but then didn't really put much effort to add stuff to their new canon to fill in the gaps...

Take a look at the wiki for example: The legends tabs for most, if not all, topics are massively bigger than their canon descriptions because Disney didn't realise that "legends" explained and describe backstories, events and features for practically everything in star wars - from weapon manufacturers like Taim & Bak to the model of proton torpedoes that a T-65B X-Wing carried. You go onto most weapon pages for canon and all you get is the generic "The XXX was a blaster rifle used by XXX. [Insert 1 very basic fact about weapon here i.e. is foldable or was used by XXX character]"

I get that legends contradicted itself, and tbh i prefer Galen Erso purposefully including a vulnerability in secret rather than one lone 2 metre exhaust port directly to the station's core being required and not being seen as a massive vulnerability that required sufficient defense.

I also like the legends Ssi Ruuk as a race. There's a guy on Deviantart who made a pretty good illustration of what he thought they looked like by merging aspects of several different illustrations together. Link -
    https://kerneinheit.deviantart.com/art/Roar-267626517

If the A280CFE and A180 in their sniper configurations are in the game, they could add the blaster and pistol configurations too. If they added a modable version of the M-50, it better have a mod that converts to Ion damage but also performs similarly to the U-Wing's M-50...

The 2 things I'd really want them to add from legends ain't even blasters tbh:

    3pdsa7x36lti.jpg
    TIE/HU Hunter

    x80surnn2qa9.jpg
Imperial Escort Carrier (wow, it was hard to find a decent image of one. This is the most decent one I could find)
'Mors est tantum impedimentum' - Death is only an obstacle
  • God, I'd love to see the Ssi Ruuk. I imagined them as a Trandoshan looking creature, just somewhat smaller and bulkier. I'd love to see what they actually look like.

@Darth_Cerebus I personally love the way the guy on Deviantart portrayed them. There's countless humanoid races in Star Wars, I'd love to see a sentient bipedal race hunched over somewhat with the stance like a dino but a bit more upright to give a bit more height to them.
