Flash Pistol/Scout Pistol Needs To Be On Specialist Please!

  • It kind of makes sense for the specialist to have the flash pistol, given what the class is supposed to be. Maybe give assault the stinger.

    It would be nice, and I think would lead to better specialist play, if the the specialist did have the flash pistol. It would be a great combo with the infiltration that reveals enemies and personal shield. I think we would get a good deal of assassin type players rather than camping snipers.
  • Yes definitely, it would make the specialist a more rounded class. I play specialist alot and I love the flash pistol it’s a no brainier for me.

    Exactly. For Specialist, it should honestly be the most versatile, but the most exposed. With this, Specialist could help push up and be able to help with close range objectives more.

    Exactly. For Specialist, it should honestly be the most versatile, but the most exposed. With this, Specialist could help push up and be able to help with close range objectives more.

    Yep. Also you wouldn't be forced to switch from Specialist on a certain map or phase either.

  • +1 I want to be able to use the EC-17 when playing as a Scout Trooper like in ROTJ (and I want to be able to play as a male Scout Trooper).

    I couldn't agree more. The Stinger Pistol is useless even in Arcade unless the AI are set to One Hit Kill, but the Flash Pistol feels like a solid and reliable sidearm, perfect for the Specialist.

    It is a pretty good weapon in the game. I have used it. It doesn't compare to weapons like the Blurrg or SE-44C but it shouldn't anyways. It is really balanced right now and as you said would make a great reliable sidearm for the Specialist.

    That would be cool. Very dangerous, but slow firing due to the charge up. But either way, The Specialist does need a reliable sidearm.

    Infiltration is good but it isn't reliable. It's on a timer as I mentioned in my initial post. It goes away after a short period if time then you have to wait for it. And as I said, it should be that way. But Specialist should also have a reliable CQC weapon that doesn't disappear after a set amount if time. And also the Specialist does deserve its own hold out blaster we all know they have.

  • The a180 idea is awesome. Considering the gun determines the specialist build more so than other classes having cards that played to that is a novel idea and very cool.

    I'm probably in the minority, but I'd rather a 1 -2 burst pistol with very low damage fall off
    An explosive mod and burst mod.
    Even bolt speed would work.

    Yes me too. Something that would help the class out a lot. Not just because I want it but because it, for one, makes sense the Scout would have their Scout Pistol but it would also help out the class and bring in more players to use the class.

    I know the Dev's see most if not all posts but to help out the suggestion I will tag a Developer.

    First off they need to fix the Binocs so they actually can work :D but that is a different story.

    It really is. That is why Scouts use it. I don't understand why the Scouts in this game can't however. It would be so fun to have a trusty blaster at your side while you are playing Specialist.

  • Give specialist the flash pistol and give assault an anti-vehicle weapon of some variety - anti-veh mines, rpg style launcher or anti- veh big nades. Pick one of the many specialist cards that are useless and discard it - all back to square and even Steven...or Dennis or Peter or whichever dev handles this sort of fix up.
    It would be so good to have the one-two like on Battlefield - sniper does 85% dmg - tap, tap with a sidearm, body drops and then reload rifle and resume.
    Specialist should get poke spotting balls as well - their duty is intel, recon and sniping and two of these they don't really have and they get out-sniped by other classes.
    Sub-note - please make trip mines moveable or pick up and replace - it's a gamble getting the things stuck where you want and not aiming to the moon. Also, would like to be able to disarm enemy mines.

  • I also kind of feel like the Homing Shot needs to be on the Specialist as well instead of the Officer lol.
  • I like specialist, and I either run a tripmine - Repulsor combo or a bubble sheild melee combo. Both are fun, but feel completely gimmicky and much worse than being able to play normally.

    A lot of people on the forums when you mention the specialist’s flaws say stuff like ‘git gud’. I don’t struggle, I regularly finish top, except with specialist it’s a lot harder. I’m hoping that the statistics of users show Dice that specialist is lacking, it’s just frustrating that easy fixes like the ones in this thread haven’t been implemented.



    Here is some of the specialist gameplay using the trip mine + repulsor cannon. Like I said, fun, but you shouldn’t be required to rely on ingenuity and trap building etc, to be able to compete.

  • In cqb - which much of this game is cqb to mid-range - specialist loses hands down to each and every class including enforcers and of course heroes (villains) so how about a hug for the long-range-no-use-except-first-stage-Hoth-and-Kashyyk (how many y's is right) and even then your out-sniped by several blasters. This class - ahh, read the other posts - it's like ice cream but it's already melted in the bottom of the bowl...no sprinkles, whipped cream, fudge topping or cherry - just a warm puddle of sweet cream...yuck...fit for the garbage disposal.

    Yeah sorta. Also, Infiltration is not used for Medium range, It is a variation of Vanguard at the moment. It needs less spread and more range to be suitable for medium range combat.

    The Stinger Pistol has no use, not even against heroes like it tries to advertise. I've been hit by the Stinger Pistol as a hero many times. It doesn't do additional damage to heroes at all.
    Man! Could this game get any more broken?

    It does two damage. They nerfed it hard from when it first released.

  • First slot should be the flash pistol then infiltration and last a smoke grenade, thermal binoculars aren't overly useful where as a smoke grenade would be

    No. If the class had a smoke nade you should be able to equip it with the binoculars.

    Binoculars are the most useful gadget the class had.
